V6 rear wheel drive

I have been interested in the 1996 model V6 motor, is there a rear wheel drive version made or a gearbox to suit for rear wheel drive.

Can't think of a Mazda with a RWD K series.
On the gearbox end of the engine is where the distriburer and thermistat housing live. It wouldn't be too difficult to overcome this (Crank angle sensor is on the nose of the crank), from memory the inlet manifold can easily be turned 180 degrees to have the throttle body in a more accessable place.

There's a sports sedan around on the net that had/has worked a K series engine mid/rear mounted. But i doubt it used anything mazda-related for the gearbox as it was pushing 500hp from memory.

The 929 used something different from memory, and it was 3L

edit:

actually, would it be possible to fudge something using the K engine bellhousing and the rest of a MX5 box? Doubtful, but.
