I have been looking at carsales and carsguide and tradingpost and everything but I'd appreatiate if you could be on tha lookout fo a bargain fo me.

Cheers,

My BA 2.0 V6 cost only $7000. It's not the shining example of an Astina but will only take a little work it should be nice.

gettign a BJ that hasnt been involved in a ram raid for $6,500 is going to be a fair ask too

sandman_kar
09-02-2007, 06:31 PM
lol forget about a BJ. U will even be pushed to find a BA for 6500 unless its got really high kms. If thats a strict budget prob look at the BGs

Hebz

Haha Fair Enough - Would you believe a typo? Nah prolly I'm just a dumbass :P Musta been on something when i typed that :P Yea I did mean a BG - sry my bad.

I was being tight wit 6,500 before, just thought - well you know tha lower tha betta.

I also did't mention (more of me being a tool) that I live in Queensland and I'd have to arrange transportation. So if you know of any transportation methods to get cars up from sydney then I'm up fo it, but its prolly like an extra grand or something messed up like that. So if you know of any transport companies/possiblitly (just generally) I'd appreatice it.

Thanx fo tha posts

Cheers,

Cheapest transportation is driven (finding someone in Sydney who wants to be in QLD).
If you are game then try the auto auctions. Keep in mind that passions can run hot and your actions are your own responsibility.

hmm im sorry but i dont understand this guy. can only afford 5k for a rat**** car but can afford to even be thinking about 18" bling bling chrome wheels. unless he has some serious cash set aside (which i doubt) for full resprays and fixing all the panel damage that a cheap BA has i think hes wasting everyones time.

sorry to be blunt.

As usual a worthless post from pr1mo...

There's been quite a few good (not great) BAs in Hatch and Hardtop form sell for about the 6-7K mark in the past few months. Sure they may have 150000km+ on them, sure they may be a little less than perfect, but they're between 10 and 13 years old, and thats a lot of time to collect carpark scratches, trolley dints and stains and seat wear.

When is reality going to set in that these cars like every other car depreciate? They also get old...

As Cosmo found, he got a solid car, may need some minor work, but there's not that many cars of that age that don't....

BTW there's a nice HT on eBay at the moment with BIN in that bracket....

i payed 9K for my BA hatch with 75,000km on the clock, 12 month rego, one owner , logs, really good condition. If you go little bit above 5K you can get a decent one in Sydney.

Sry guys - I've been workin like a B****.

Cosmo Dude - Thanx fo tha heads up bud, neva thought of that ill see if i can contact someone. Haha thats some of tha best advice ive heard bout auctions - Im quite prone to tha possibility of making a stupid offer caught up in tha moment :P

Aaron - Thanks bud, Ill go check it out. Thanks fo backing me

Asangag - Sounds like you got urself a good dealio there man, if I went 9K i would nt have enough spare cash to add on some mods - Wheres tha fun in that? I've seen a couple of good cars fo decent prices in Sydney but they get snatched up pretty quick. If you wanna drive one to Queensland fo a holiday. . . . :P anytime Cheers.

Pr1mo - Thanks bro - I see you used your spidey senses to figure out my finanical situation and yeah your right - I'm purposely wasting my time just so I can waste yours - seriously wtf. Yeah bud I want a car that I can add to and put some things on (forgive fo liking shiny things) but this is an enthusiast site and I enjoy working on cars and modding things. Sorry fo not liking sipping cups of tea and taking bubble baths.

Cheers Guys

What do you guys reckon?

A BG astina for cheaper and add more mods OR - a BA astina fo more and add less mods?

I'm confused coz both are good cars - which is more fun to drive and mess around - and which can have more modifications added to it?

Whats tha specs fo both cars - Weight and power in Kw etc. . . theres not a topic wit that in it is there?

Cheers

yeah as long as ya dont go under the $7,500 mark you should pick up a great little BA...if you wanna spend a bit less maybe look for a BG but harder to find in good condition...but youd be looking at anywhere between $3,000 and $4,500.

good call with primo's messege...if he doesnt like wasting his time why does he reply to threads..simple as that i reckon...i bought my BG for 3000 grand. and the engine was fully rebuilt...still got the receipts...the panel work as usaul needs work but the engine is stock and if you want a good modding car i reckon you should buy a stock one and make it your own...have a look at my readers ride...

So did your grandfather tell you what he thought.
He went over it with a fine tooth comb and I think he liked it.
But I think he wants it for $5000 grand and didnt like it when I said if he can find one in this condition for 5 grand then buy it.
Im selling my car for less than what I have spent on it in the last 12 months.
And you wont find better for the price.
If you feel the price is to high ask a member who lives near me to check out my car as they will have better knowledge of what the BA astina is worth (if you want)
