i have a set for sale..one of them has a little corner missing apart from that all good

jonnyman 07-04-2010 04:48 PM

one of mine is completely missing, ive rung about 15 local wreckers here in adelaide and they are the first parts to go. and you think $167 is bad for a brand new one? Mazda over here quoted me $219 just for one! i reckon they secretly gold plate them ;)

mussing 07-04-2010 04:55 PM

Bugger that, just cut a piece of aluminium or something to shape, paint it, and figure out how to secure it. Lol, then write a how-to for everyone else.

Hey guys,

Just bought myself a '91 BG but its missing the RH A-Pillar, was wondering if anyone on here has one they'd like to sell?? Mazda's price is ridiculous lol.

Thanks in advance,

Matt

same here man,
but both of mine are missing.
anyone?

Gp. 23-01-2013 08:39 PM

Both of mine are gone now. We really need to figure out a cheap solution. $100's of bucks for a piece of plastic? This is dumb. lol

There is a solution.
Multiple, but still requires a good set of A-pillars.

Take a fibreglass mould of the A-pillar. For someone to do this and recover labour and material costs, you would be selling at $30ish each.
But requires effort and a bit of skill.

I would have done so.. But I sold my BG... So it's a waste of time for me now.

What I would recommend to any Bg owners.... Do t wait for these things to snap...
Go buy a little DIY fibreglass kit (even bunnings sell them) and lay down a couple of layers of glass on the inside of the A-pillar, making sure that you reinforce the mounting tabs too.

Guarantee you will not have any future problems.

Prevention is the key to not continuously forking out stupid money for a piece of plastic.
