Mats new BF

Ok so the other week i was trolling thru Ebay and found this Mazda 323 BF for sale. after a few drinks i may have placed a bid on it. long story short i know own a 5 door 323 BF.

so the car was listed on Ebay to have a 1.3 carbie motor and a 4 speed manual box. So i wasnt to fussed about this as i was thinking about putting a BP or FE3 or F8 in it. But when i went to pick up the car i noticed it had a 1.6 carbie motor, a 5 speed box, 4 wheel disc brakes, mags, good tires. so i bought it. The interior has seen better days but thats ok for now. cool thing is it DRIVES  i drove it on and off the trailer and even around the block. everything works haha

after asking the original owner why he was selling it, he told me it was his son's car and was sick of it out the front of his ouse so he gave his son till 2014 to get it running.. So yer that never happened haha :p

Anyway the car came with a boot load of spare parts like 2xcarbies, 1x head, 2x intake manifolds, new parker lends, exhaust, wheel, and a few other little things.

Also the old owner used to use theis car for Autocross racing (hence the mudflaps) but the bod is in great shap.. only to small spots of rust which i'll take care off very soon to stop the canser from spreading.

so here is some pictures of the new beast :)

P.S. best $200 car i have ever bought ;):D

derb 15-01-2014 12:14 PM

NaughtyGT 15-01-2014 01:32 PM

Wicked Mat!

derb, that EGR crap will soon be gone ;)

Mad Mat 15-01-2014 02:40 PM

Yer it will be. just need to find a doner motor. altho over the course of the day i have been thinking, what would it actually take to get this thing rego'd.. or at least rally rego.. then i could drive it around all the time and just tho a new motor in it later on.

Rupewrecht 15-01-2014 03:10 PM

A donor motor you say...? What about a GT-Ae BP-T? ;)

I was going to say stick a K-series in there.

You mean like Shane posted above?

Mad Mat 17-01-2014 07:58 PM

SO finally got around to going thru the spare parts that came with the car. i was wrong, the car came with the following items

2x carbies
2x intake manifolds
4x starters (YES 4 )
2x sets of leads
1x parker for a mazda but not a 323 BF
2x dizzies

so now that question is what do i do with all these parts :confused:

Mad Mat 03-03-2014 10:39 AM

UPDATE TIME

so i talked to my mechanic. he had a look at the car and there is just 2 small things i need to do to get ready for a roadworthy :D

In the last couple of weeks i have been collecting parts for this little beast. I have installed a set of BA hatch front seats to replaced the distroyed bf seats.

Im also on the hunt for a rear drivers tail light and a bf speedo cluster with a tacho.

ALSO i went thru all my parts and i found a full engine loom, ecu, dizzy, ETC from my BA when i was running the stock BP NA. so going to freashin up a bp i have here and bolt that ba3tard in. lets hope when i bolt it in it doesnt blow up the gearbox haha.

will thro up some pitures soon.

Mad Mat 03-03-2014 11:01 AM

the drivers seat needs some work as its not 100% yet. and the pasangers is bolted in but im not happy with the way its sitting. its leaning to far back and to the right so im going to make a spacer to level it out :)

derb 03-03-2014 12:18 PM

Is it just me, or are those seats sort of leaning towards the centre of the car? Like leaning towards each other? Anything is better than what was in there though.

TheMAN 03-03-2014 12:21 PM

it's for the gangsta style driving :D

haha a jenvey manifold?? whats that??

i have a spare BP here they im going to rebuild and put in. just need some series 3 injectors for it as i sadly thru out my old set. :(

ghetto3 05-03-2014 12:53 PM

The jenvey itb kit i aquired, you can buy the manifold seperately which has the same weber bolt pattern.

Nope scratch that, with a bit of searching apparently the manifold angle makes them unsuitable for carbs. bugger..

Evilist 05-03-2014 08:00 PM

If this was my BF Id go with a F2 2.2L and run some carbs and lighter flywheel and cam :D ;)

Been trying to convince my dad to do this in his wagon but hes stuck on having an FE3, oh welll

Ow can u get carbies for a 2.2??? That would be a different thing to see :)

Evilist 06-03-2014 05:46 AM

not sure, I'm sure if you have a welder and spend a couple of days making up some runners for the carbs, can even use mild steel and powder coat it

Yer but the parts came up for sale at the right price so really couldn't say no now could i ;-)

The sp20 side skirts are about 200mm to long so they will need to be shortened but I'll wait till I get my SS front bar to make sure that they suit that too...

Mad Mat 14-03-2014 12:22 PM

i aquired some more parts;
- b6t box
- b6t drive shafts
- b6t flywheel
- euro tail lights and rear garnish
- motor bike ITB's
- 4 new tx3 door cards (which i hope they will fit my bf doors)
- tx3 tacho cluster
- 15x7 by 35 offset rims from rupe
- front quarter mirrors

ghetto3 14-03-2014 01:01 PM
