How much for these suicide seats landed as a matter of interest? Can these be fitted into a BA and what material is it do you know?

Suicide seat = passenger ;)

They can be fitted to a BA, but you'd need to buy/make BA brackets to fit to the universal MS rails. They're suede. And about $1280 for that pair landed.

heh - interesting that the words are clearly similar :D

Cheers for that - I will think on it. You have no idea how "comfy" these things are do you? As stupid a question as that may sound.

I love mine. I used to get a sore lower back with the standard BA seats, but these are very comfortable on long drives. Quite grippy/supportive...but you can't have wide childbearing hips!

Skitz and Nate (not Hairy Nate) also have them, and only have good feedback about them afaik.

Don't forget i've got one of those in stock (and another one coming this container) and the black Sports as well.

Hey Rupe, does yours have those little levers on the side? I'm guessing they are lumbar support or something, but mine never stay in position, they always flip back to off - I really don't know how to use them lol.

Hope you don't mind me going off topic! but here are mine harnessed up http://hometown.aol.co.uk/SJakielski...e/Image026.jpg

Yeah, the levers are for 2 door cars - move them forward, push the headrest forwards and the top half of the seat flips forward. It's a quick-tilt function.

They look cool with the harnesses!

See below. The same applies for any car.

It wouldn't take too much effort. The rails on each MS seat are identical, but there's little brackets that go on each corner of the rail that are different for each car. Lantis/Astina one are pretty rare, but they wouldn't be that hard to get someone to fabricate some - it's just 3 or 4mm bent steel. Getting them new is virtually impossible though.

You can remove the rail from you standard seats...but i'm honestly not sure if they're interchangeable with the MS ones - i've never needed to try.

You'll be in this situation for any aftermarket seats you buy, as few make rails to fit a BA.

what would be the av price shipped for a pair?
eg the red pair a few posts up?

Usually the average sell price is 40000-70000 - mostly depending on condition.

A pair @ 40000 would be $900 landed. 50000 = $1050, 60000 = $1200, 70000 = $1350. That's with the exchange rate hovering around the 100yen = $1 mark.

Set of drivers brackets for an MX5. They show what i mean when i say the rails are all the same, but have a bracket on each corner

mcwilly 06-08-2008 04:04 PM

so these mounting brackets are similar as what would be required for a bg astina

I think Nate ended up using some combination of stock BG and MX5 brackets, but you'd have to ask him. Not sure what BG is similar to, not having a BG

Eventually, I hope to reduce the amount of my wife's makeup smeared on the passenger window and the headbutting my left shouder by installing more supportive seats. She's pretty small at 52kg and I'm tall and skinny. WRX seats feel perfect for me. Do you think Type F would be suitable? Are there brackets available for a BJII? I suppose the cost of getting them to Cairns would be scary.

The Mazdaspeed seats are a little more supportive than WRX seats. They suit a smaller frame i guess, but it really depends on how wide your hips are. They're not quite as tight as Recaro SR3s.

I've never seen brackets for the BJ, and sourcing some for BJ isn't possible now that the seats have been discontinued. But they could easily be fabricated as they're a pretty simple design, or it may be possible to adapt part of your existing rail.

I've shipped some to Nate in QLD before for around $120, if memory serves correctly.

Rupewrecht 14-10-2008 08:55 PM

I actually just fitted some to a mates' NA MX5 last weekend.

Hi there Rupewrecht. I'm interested in buying one pair just like the one you installed in the NA MX-5. I have one also... Here's the thing, i'm from Portugal. Do you thing you can get them shipped over here. How much will it cost?
