Mazda SP20 speedo runs off the trans or axle?

does the Mazda SP20 speedo runs off the trans or axle?

anyone?

apparently the p5 mazdaspeed in states run off the diff.

Our gearboxes/transaxles are the same as theirs.

runs off ABS wheel speed sensors since all SP20s have ABS standard
ABS was optional in the states so without ABS, it runs off a gearbox speed sensor

I just had to rebuild my G series gear box to add a speedo sensor as it didn't have it for my JDM ECU.

don't all f and g boxes run the speedo sensor off the diff from 94 onwards?

no
BA3s had the speedo run off the ABS sensors just like BJs do if the car had ABS

Maztech stripped it and added the speedo gear drive ring and rebuilt it then added the speedo sensor on the out side.

Well that means most of the them ABs was only standard on the V6 and I broke a cable on my HT BA but not sure on S3. Maybe it was on the F -box.

Speedo sensor on outside of box? I gues they used the standard hole.

IF they were common -cheap way would be a 4WS unit from 89- 626 4ws has seconday speedo sensor on the gearbox gear drive.
