thanks cosmo...it's the removing the bulb part that i have trouble with anyhow have another go this week

Cosmo Dude 10-10-2004 08:30 PM

Ok then, is it the inside high beam one or the outside high/low that has failed?

edskii 10-10-2004 08:42 PM

it's the non highbeam one ....for normal daily use that is!!! seems to me the whole unit is what i have to take to autobarn as u mentioned.....it's not simple as twisting the bulb and replacing with a new one....thanks for your swift reply cosmo....some1 out there must have replaced one of these b4 ...if so please help

Well ive replaced my headlights for my 1.8 ltr hardtop..

and i dont think the V6 and 1.8 are any different for removal..

when you open bonnet..
you need to look behind the lights..

there are 2 silver circles which are the globes..

and there is a clip of some sort holding them down..

You need to squeeze and push down ... then release and let them up..

_
| ' <--- its on a hook like this...

so the clip has to come off it..

it can be hard.. depending on your finger strength... i got em off fine.. with hands... some ppl need long nose pliers =D

Ok one you have removed clip

you move the globe out.... then there are 2 wires attached ... disconnect em... AND REMEMBER WHERE THEY WENT !! =P

then take fubar'd globe to Auto barn... auto one... ummm or super cheap

anywhere that sells globes and show em... they will issue new one

Then do reverse of top...

=D

Hope it helps =D

Ta ta..
