323 SP20 N/A upgrades

does anyone have any ideas on what i could do to get around 130kw atw with my n/a sp20 i already have a full exhaust (extractors to resonator then tip)? my budget is 2k.

da20valve 13-08-2014 10:01 PM

130KW ATW, I doubt it, and not for 2K

marcs_sp20 13-08-2014 10:09 PM

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but getting 50kw atw with $2k aint going to happen.

First Step you've already done, next would be a CAI, after that ECU. Then after those, you've cams, pistons, port work, but thats a good 3x over the $2k budget when all together.

da20valve 13-08-2014 10:36 PM

I doubt they are getting 130KW total with a FS ZE + ECU, and that's going to set you back 3K+

marcs_sp20 14-08-2014 12:34 AM

124.6hp atw using a stock ZE & running off a DE ECU, and thats with a full exhaust & AutoExe CAI

First off -Welcome To AstinaGT

And to your question i don't think you'll come close with 2k budget for 130kw.

Do you know what your KW atw is at the moment ?

Rupewrecht 14-08-2014 08:44 AM

JDM FS-ZE would help, but that's like $1k right there.

paloash 14-08-2014 09:31 AM

nah but im guessing guessing around 80kw atw

paloash 14-08-2014 09:32 AM

do you think if i turbo'd it i would get that power??

paloash 14-08-2014 09:42 AM

and i know this guy who has a t3 turbo with screamer and makes 160kw atw

Ice88 15-08-2014 10:17 AM

On a FS engine? Count down to destroyed engine and gearbox unless he's done something to it.

Other then one guy in the states about 8 years ago, AFAIK at present my car is the highest hp FS/FP N/A car, about 5-6k later in the build and im at about 120kw @ wheels.

paloash 15-08-2014 03:48 PM

well then if i get a cai, full exhaust and tune how much should i make?

80-85

120 killer wasps is 160 horse powers so I wouldn't say impossible - at least I hope not because I am hoping to achieve that. However, a $2k budget isn't going to cut it to reach that mark.

CIA is a good start. If you are looking for the feeling of a faster car, the look at better suspension, weight reduction etc.

paloash 15-08-2014 11:30 PM

yea im thinking of getting some coilovers but cant find any and when i do there so expensive want some around 1k

HAIGHIE 16-08-2014 10:07 AM

Look at BC coilovers. There like $1200-1400 isn't mark.

As far as making that power. Not going to happen easily.
The thing with these cars is you can't TUNE them.
No one has been able to break the factory coding to change parrameters.

The only way is to go standalone-piggyback but your looking at about 2.5k just to have it put in and tuned and that's before any other mods and then your really limited to what yo can get out of the stock engine.

Cams would be your next step and they start at like 600+ but you can even run them properly with out after maker ECU as there to wild for the stock unit.

What type of car does your mate have ??

Can boosting a stock FS motor. Your very limited to power with it like 10psi and a very safe tune. And again you'd need after market ECU.

Get a good set of header, exhuast and an intake and itll sound and goooo soooooooooo much better.

Hmm I did my maths wrong then based on darryls figures :)

paloash 16-08-2014 10:02 PM

yea im just going to get coilovers a cai i already have a full exhaust and maybe some cams and just see how it goes

paloash 16-08-2014 10:06 PM

but im not sure if i can find any cams, anyone know where i could find in sydney?

paloash 17-08-2014 01:50 PM
