Replacing Link-ends
 

Heya,

I've got a bit of suspension clunk, which i've concluded is coming from the sway-bar link-ends. I was wondering if anyone has remedied this? Can the clunking be fixed by tightening/shims, or do the link-ends need to be replaced.

If replacement is required, could someone give me a brief overview, or point me in the right direction...

Finally, if i was planning to lower the car, would this affect the link-ends? Would i be better off get something like AWRs adjustable link-ends.

Forgetting AWD, I only know FWD, but here goes: The rear swaybar on the BJ has always had an issue with sliding from side to side (if not originally delivered with stock jambstops). This is your clunk, the swaybar either hits the lateral links or your reaching the end of the endlink's limits. I'm not sure which it is, but that's it. Now, it might not be so like that on the AWD, I would need to see a piccy to clarify. However, if it is what I describe, you can simply buy some jambstops to prevent the swarbar from sliding aroud. Note that if it is sliding, you should see grease or wear marks on the bar itself...

As usual I'm doing to much thinking, and not enough poking.
Its in the front end. Pretty certain the sway bar is solid. Noise is independent of acceleration/deceleration, gears/neutral, turning/straight, etc. So it must be suspension... hence my suspicion on the link-ends...

However i didn't realize the common BJ issues was with the rear bar…
Will do more poking
