bj astina wakefield park videos
hey all again
just some videos of my stockish bj astina a few days ago at wakefield park nothing special but i realised there wasnt many bj 323s video out there so some people here might be interested i did many 1min20sec runs during the timed session in the arvo but my camera ran out memory im kinda disappointed with the time since i ran the same time without a rear sway bar last event even though i felt this time i went through the corners much better. im thinking i've lost a few ponies since last time. the engine does have close to 230ks hehe its pretty lame for my car to do 130km/h (redlining 3rd gear) at the back straight while only managing 142km/h down the main straight full throttle right up to the kink my car 2003 astina 1.8 stock engine with cai yellowspeed coilover progress rear swaybar stock brakes with remsa pads hankook rs3 195/50r15 anyways, enjoy the video and any pointers on my driving will be appreciated https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0cWvNu7HATc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=trUR6AhsfQc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iL6OYvRamEY |
Cool to see someone throwing the bj around a race track. Have you stripped much weight off the car?
|
i only removed the spare wheel, but i still had my 2 amps under the seat so u could say the the cars weight is pretty much factory, plus my fat-90kg-ass lol
one thing im very proud of my car was i could do 50 laps of wakefield and still drive back to sydney on the same tank :D |
Fuel economy ftw!

hold the steering wheel higher. you are stuggling with your steering control due to having to twisting your upper body to get enough turn with your hands. corners 5, 8 and 10 are catching you out. and they are all corners with big long sprints after them.
start holding it at 11 and 1. not 9 and 3. you want to use your hands to pull the steering wheel downwards, not push it upwards and across your body. coming up to a corner, you should be moving you hand across to the 12 o'clock point to pull the steering wheel on turn in. you timing for gear changes is a little sloppy also. but i think does have to do with you extra handling of the steering as above. p.s. nice save on vid 3 early. |
Hey you might be right there, i never thought about hand position on the steering but yes i do have problems with my body position through turn 8 which causes me to miss shift 2nd to 3rd gear numerous times. at first i thought it was my seat not holding me in but now i think its both that and this hand position making it worst

Too bad I can't watch the videos anymore.

Yeah I know right? Was keen on seeing it go around.
