2000 astina audio wiring colors ?
Hi guys,
I have a 2000 astina hatch and have already taken the factory casette head unit out (FMS audio unit). But I don't know what wires are what at the back of the head unit. Can anyone tell me what color wire is for what ? e.g. front left (+), rear right (-), etc. any information would be so greatly appreciated ... or even a link to where I can find such information. thanx so much |
easy way to check - have a look at the speakers
|
but what about all the other power wires, etc ?
I''ve been looking through the forum and some has said that the wire color at the back of the head unit might not be the same as the ones at the wires! but thanx for that idea anyway ... |
i dont know which are the wires, but you can find the power, lights etc with a multimeter
|
better idea...
the stock wires are horribly thin, and you will regret cutting into them - i need to rewire my hole lot becuase of this.... the wires change colour throughout the car AePro have an adaptor unit that replicates the plugs on the back of the standard unit, which then has new wires in the standard ISO colouring... you can buy these for $20 at supercheap or pretty much any car store heres other side... my stereo install took a bit over 3 hours (tip buy a multimeter, and a 9v battery if you do cut) when i installed a stereo into red frogs car it took a little over 45 minutes, and that was becasue a fuse blew out... a few times... even with the harness, use the multimeter to double check with the headlights on!!! |
I know the BA and BG have the same pin-outs. As it states above though the wire colours change. The good news is the pin-outs are constant.
Check with the dealer if they have an adaptor plug. |
thanx for all the advise guys ...
I think I will look for a wiring harness :) |
well well ... I found the colors at last!
and here they are if anyone else is interested .... these are for the back of the factory stereo in a 2000 Astina (BJ I think): Pin 1: Green / Orange - Rear Right Speaker (-) Pin 2: Green - Rear Right Speaker (+) Pin 3: Brown - Rear Left Speaker (-) Pin 4: Brown / White - Rear Left Speaker (+) Pin 5: White - Front Right (-) Pin 6: Red - Front Right (+) Pin 7: Black / White - Front left (-) Pin 8: Black / Brown - Front Left (+) Pin 9: Black - Ground Pin 10: Pink / Black - Switched power, coonect to red wire in aftermarket harness. Pin 11: White / Blue - Dimmer, not typicaly used for an aftermarket radio Pin 12: Green / Black - Illumination, thanks twizyours Pin 13: Blue / Red - Contasnt Power aka Battery aka Memory, connect to yellow wire in aftermarket harness. I installed the new cd/mp3 player last night and it's great :) thanx very much to everyone who replied |
hmm interesting... mine were different to that, as were red_frogs

I've posted this b4 but I couldn't find it...
check [msprotege.com] - Harness, Kits and speaker size of all Proteges! Then scroll down until you see 'STOCK P5 HEAD UNIT PIN OUT:' It includes a pic so the pin numbers will actually mean something. |
Hello, I bought a SONY DSX-A40UI, which I need to fit to a Mazda Astina 323 2000 1.6 litre.
The Sony's harness does not fit the Mazda's harness. Is there an adaptor or an ISO harness with wires so I can cut the Mazda harness and connect the loose wires to the ISO harness' wires? I have pictures, but not sure how to attach them? https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0D...ew?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0D...ew?usp=sharing |
