Blue Plugs (and Speaker wire colors for BA)

Hey All..

Is there any way to get the blue plug off the speaker wire for the standard speakers? I noticed that there were some connecting spades in there and was hoping that I may be able to use them once I buy new speakers.

Also.. what coloured wires represent positive and negative in the doors? I noticed that they were all different colours as well :(

Cheers

For the front doors I made adaptor leads, Narva make the two pin plug and the speaker end I used spade terminals, then I put heatshrink over them to stop them falling out again  I have the corect terminating tool to do this :D

Front Right -ve Green/Yellow
Front Right +ve Red/Yellow

Front Left -ve Violet
Front Left +ve Blue/Orange

Rear Door Hatch -ve Orange
Rear Door Hatch +ve Yellow
Both doors utilize the same colours

Rear Right H/top -ve Orange
Rear Right H/top +ve Yellow

Rear Left H/top -ve Green/Black
Rear Left H/top +ve Green/Orange
You would need to know this at the headunit end for both

Heh.. actually.. I had just thought about this at work.

I'll buy some more male/female spades.. make up a 5cm cable with a male spade at one end, the female at the other [with the right sizes for the new speaker] and just clip them into the blue plug. Problem solved, and i don't have to cut off the blue plug so I can put the stock speakers back in the car when I sell it.

Thanks for the colours too Rod..

Maybe someone should put that colour info in a sticky somewhere???

It's a question that is bound to be asked again.......

Just a thought.

Different suppliers and different contracts. The back doors have the same loom to save some money.

If all else fails then MAZDA :D

The plugs to the stockie radio are the same on the BG and BA.
The colours change when different sub contractors make different sections of the wiring looms over the years.

Here goes...

2A +12V from ignition
2B No connection
2C +12V from battery
2D To antenna
2E Dash illumination
2F
2H No connection
2J To center speaker amplifier
2K Left frount speaker +
2L Left frount speaker -
2M Right frount speaker +
2N Right frount speaker -

3A Left rear speaker +
3B Left rear speaker -
3C No connection
3D No connection
3F Right rear speaker +
3H Right rear speaker -
3I No connection
3J No connection

4A Earth

Code:

[2A][2C][2E] | [XX][XX] | [2K][2M]      [3A][3C] | [**][**] | [3I]
[2B][2D][2F] | [2H][2J] | [2L][2N]      [3B][3D] | [3F][3H] | [3J]    [4A]

ISO pin-out
If you understand the diagram then you can write down the colours before cutting them from the plug.

Hi, this is my first post but i'm already a huge fan of this forum.

Thanks for the diagram. Refering to the centre channel, i'm hoping to use it as a speaker for my hands free car kit. THe harness has only 1 output for the centre amp, is that a remote power on? I dont think anyone actually mentioned whether they knew or not? Otherwise i was thinking of just supplying 12v+ and see if it turns on and produces something... Suppose i could plug the stock HU back in and find my multimeter...

btw, i've read the topics http://www.astinagt.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1135 & http://www.astinagt.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1301

i cant remember if that output to the centre speaker is a negative or positive trigger.

my wiring diagrams are at home so i can check tonight tho.

i would ground that wire and see if it turns the amp on, before giving it 12v+. That way you avoid risking short circuiting the amp.

are they the same

Hi all,

I had a mazda astina but now have a 1995 626 and I cannot find any info on wiring diagrams for the stereo. I was wondering if the diagram you have hear on this post would be similar to the 626. the pin setup is the same with the double plugsand the wire placements seem to be the same but colours vary slightly. Does anyone know if there is a similar site or diagram for my model.

thanks for anyone who posts help.
