Just had a browse through JB HiFi DSLR deals section, this is one that I think offers a 1st time buyer best bang for buck:-

They also had a Nikon D3100 twin lense kit also for the same money. But you might as well grab the extra MP for the same cash.

And the 600D twin lense kit was $200 more.
