I've got a 2003 Mazda 323 Astina BJ, trying to get a obd reader setup. Purchased a 16-17 pin patch cable as I don't seem to have a obd port under my Dash. My issue is after receiving the cable and obdII reader it doesn't seem to power on at all when the ignition is switched on. I've checked the fuses and nothings blown leaving me questioning if it the wrong obd reader and I need a obd I reader instead of a obd II or if I got the wrong cord.

Can someone shed a bit of light, as I was going to take it to a auto electrician but I tried my reader and cable on my brothers 121 with the same issue. Both cars do have aftermarket head units and my harness had a seriously bad hack job.

Link to port I'm using, It's the top connector
