Smile lazy eye

Hay guy's I kno that it's about a year ago since this thread was used but I thought I'd add 2cents worth.

I did the lazy eye on my BG astina about 4years ago but they only worked (tipped height) when the light were OFF, as soon as they turned on the light would pop up and stay up until I flicked a switch.

I could however choose the light tip height by using the light (pop up switch) on the dash.

It was a fairly easy fix if I remember correctly. Just a few steps, 1 two way switch and some 2core wire. + any tools that you would use to remove your cluster surround, and the light (pop up switch). Oh and perhaps a really fine flat blade screw driver. Crimp plugs or solder also!

Step 1. Remove the pop up switch from the dash surround
Step 2. Open up the switch box and remove a piece of plastic about the size of 5mm square, 2mm thick. This is the retainer that allows the switch to stop and hold position 'A' when depressed and releases after 2nd press. If u know how a clicky pen works it does the same thing by holding the pen out and then returns it on second press.

NOW, that the current passes thru this switch when pressed, ie NO position 'A' anymore u need to add the 2way switch in line.

Put the switch back together and return dask back to normal.

Step 3. I cant remember which wires we connected the 2way switch (position 1) to but it allows to bypass pop up switch, therefore the switch when pressed will pop lights up and down or when lights are turned ON, the lights pop up and stay up till the lights are turned off (Normal Use)
When the 2way switch is in the other position the lights will pop up and STAY up when truned on and OFF. You must flick the 2way switch to the other position (normal use). BUT when the 2way switch is in position 2, tap the dash pop up switch quickly and select the height you would like the lights.
