Hey dudes, long time no visit!

I did this mod, removed the intake right up to the filter box and i've found that there is quite a marked dead spot at 4000rpm.

I hit the throttle and if i'm driving it feels like i've tapped the brakes, in neutral there's just a slight pause in the revs before it progresses beyond 4krpm.

I've got the 1.6L ZM,

anyone have any insight as to what's going on?
