Pretty much anything over 4000K gives off a blue halo or tinge in the least. Apparently the hotter/bluer you go, the less intense or effective the light is for the same wattage. The guys that use Diamond vision (5000K?) have commented on how useless their lights are too, but that won't be so much of a problem with HIDs.
