Correct. EBC pads are generally fairly average as they're designed to work on softer rotors in lower ambient temperatures compared to the Australian market.

I can understand this for brake pads, but is does it apply to discs too?
Not really, as 'EBC' rotors in Australia are all RDA anyway. The Gold Passivating and Slotting/Dimpling is all done locally here.

What other brake pads are out there that are of similar price and quality locally?
QFM HPX
Remsa

How do braided lines compare to normal brake lines, does it actually make any difference?
Nup, SFA difference. Braided lines generally only mask an inadequacy in the brake fluid, and 99.9% of the benefit people service from fitting them is because by default they've had to change the fluid, or because they replaced lines that needing replacing anyways, and fitting new rubber lines would've had the same net affect.

In any production car with a firewall mounted booster there's more loss of feel from the firewall flexing then there'll ever be from the rubber lines expanding...
