in the reflector lights i wouldn't overly recommend them - light scatters around a lot, in projectors they are ace, as also in the older glass fresnel type lights...
and stop thinking about it do it - tis well worth it - ignore the legalities, as they can be adjusted with minimal disturbance to others on the road
