What would you be prepared to pay?

Since purchasing my 92 'tina off of ebay, it's just become an interest as to what they are still selling for and what folks are prepared to pay.

Over the past several months (ebay only), I have seen everything from a bargain SP to, heavily over priced standard.

What tweaked me at the moment is...there is currently a 1990 Astina listed with 9 bids, sitting @ $1,800. Finishes in a few hours. This car has no rego. Bad paint and over 322,000k's on the clock.

In the past, I have seen 1990-1993 SP Astinas listed and, either the seller had a reserve & the bids only reached around the $1,500-$1,800 mark and the action was passed in, or, the car has been only good for parts or project and sold cheap.

I suppose it's called 'timing' with audience at the time sellers place their car up for sale. We ALL know sale yards over price so, I'm not even bring that into the equation.

I paid $1,500 for my '92 baby. 230,000k's on the clock and with dings. The major one on the drivers side front guard & nose panel needs replacing. I can't find a replacements in the right color so, I have to live with it. I only wanted to sell so I could buy an SP with the bells & whistles. I LOVE 1990-1993 Astinas.

It just gets me with price differences. Recently, I was tempted to put my Astina up for sale here. 12 months rego and only added another 2,000k's since I bought it. I just wanted the purchase price back. We all write off added things that have cost us during our ownership.

Just for my own curiosity, what do you feel is a fair price for a BG 'standard' single cam Astina. Medio K's but in OK condition for age?

i think 2 and a half ($2.500)is a good price any higher there would have to be a mod on the car or some what like cai,pod or rims etc.

seriously? BA astinas are worth $5000 nowadays.
so i'd pay $2000 for a dohc, or $1500 for a sohc bg.

i got my BPT BG with heaps of mods for 4200, so personally i wouldn't pay over $2k for one without a BPT.

really 5k for a ba,
my gray one i bought from a dealer a few weeks ago for 3.9k in perfect mechanical condition with 357000k, only fault is paint on roof is fading and bonnet/front bar has a few small stone chips and cracked paint, interior is like new though, no wear at all on it

maybe i should sell it

5k for a BA with under 200000k maybe. 357000k is a lot.

Wouldn't states come into play for this? if I recall, SA and WA have a little bit of a markup on car prices, I dunno why, probably because they are not east coast states... Do a search on prices on carsales.com and you'll see what I mean.

Red face

Hmmm.......judging by the prices being suggested here; did I get jipped? I paid $6,600 for the 96 V6, it's straight as though and only 132k on the clock, plus full service history. I am starting to wonder now.............I will have to catch up with the other guy at work that purchased an earlier model and see how much he paid for his 1992 Astina SP.

$6600 for a straight low km V6 is fine.

$4500-$5500 for a 200-250,000km I4 1.8L BA seems the norm recently. Some BAs are 15 years old also.
