Exclamation Wheel sizes n shyte :)

hey all, me again...

if i was getting some new rims (17"), i know i need 5x114.3, an offset close to +45 and about 7" wide...

if im getting 7.5" wide will the offest still be good at +45? will it scrub with low king springs?

tyres will be 205/40

thanx!

hey man , you do not want 7.5" wide rims on your car . first insurance problems and you will need your guards worked on.

i had 17x7" rims with the wrong offset and it scrubbed bad , so when looking make sure it is the perfect offset.

with the correct 17x7" rims and low springs it will not scrub . i know this because mine does not now i have the right offset rims

ive been told +45 is the right offset...but i wanna make sure its the same if i go a tad wider...

how can it affect my insurance? they were fine when i put rims on my other car, and i know ill prolly need my gaurds rolled...

also, would it scrub in parkinglots on full lock or just over bumps?

there's no point in going 7.5 wide. 7" if more than enough since 215/40/17 is the correct sized tire to get

and yes +45 or +48 is right. and 7" is a good bit wider than the stock sp20 - it's only a pissy 6"

now, its time for lowering...coz it looks like a bus...

now, ill prolly just get some king low springs...where can i get these and how much would they be fitted? names of places or places you have gone to would be a good start if you dont mind sharing...

also, will i be ok with the standard shockies for a lil while? i dont feel like forking out a whack of money again at the moment...so ill wait a bit...

thanx!

you'll be right on the standard shocks, however the kings will wear out the shocks very quickly.

what tyres did you get?

City Suspension is two doors down from BJs where you got your tyres done, if you can't find it I will have to come over and slap you! I think you also have ABS brake and Clutch right next door to them if you want to look at something else again. City Suspension love bloody King Springs and thought I was farked in the head getting Eibachs. Don't ask me about the price of Kings, expect to pay $250+ getting them fitted, it's a half day job...

Gav.

nah thats bs twiggy , king lows will be fine with the standered shockies and will not wear them out. i think its rich you saying it too when you dont have kings . my shockies are fine and same with my brothers. his old car was still fine after 30 000 kays with lows

eibach is a friggen good brand, however kings are by far not as **** as everyone makes out . they are designed for aussie roads

they will wear the shocks out. any firmer springs will wear the shocks out quicker than stock. after having the eibachs for around 3-3.5 years (i cant remember) my shocks are worn out. since the kings are one of the firmer springs available, they will wear your shock out a lot quicker than the rest

ok, i priced up some lowered springs today, all prices were supplied fitted and a wheels alignment...

GSA - $700
City Suspension - $590
All About Wheels and Suspension - $478.50
Keith 4 Wheels - $450
ABS - $350

i limited my choices to slacks creek as thats where the competition will be thats close to me...

im prolly gunna go ABS (for obvious reasons), anyone had experiences with them? i dont want to hear "oh my cousins friends brother got it done at ABS in Townsville, and they drove his car and wrote it off", coz i will just laugh at you (as will many others :P)

so yea, any feedback from experience from any of these places would be good!

After riding in Craig's car and Dwayne's car, both with King Lows, I can't say I have a problem with them like I did 10 years ago. Was it worth paying an extra $150+ for Eibachs? Probably not, but their springs are the best for Mazdas, and that's the price you pay for them...
