Question What do you want?

Woo hoo,
First thread in the new forum.

Any ways, as one of the folk who take the time to organise (no matter how infrequent or poorly) I'd like to know what sort of event would draw you from the wood work?

Feel free to spill your guts

Definately something that involves a group activity.. I am pretty sure that the go-karting cruise went down pretty good..

Something that is cost effective is always a bonus.. Cricket, Soccer, Footy or whatever is always a good team spirit thing.. Or sitting in one of our nice Melbourne pubs sipping a smooth lager and potting balls in the corner pocket can also be a good thing!

Mmmm,
A regular lunch/diner at a pub. Somewhere like the South melb or Williamstown area. I like that one.

Yeh somewhere that i can jump off the westgate, park the car and have a beer in my hands in and hour and 5 mins would be good..

Limerick Arms seems to be a good watering hole.. Even a barmy casual saturday arvo pot or 4 is well worth a drive for.

I was talking about the pub lunch thing with Adam not too long ago, was tossing that idea around thinking it would be good. As Adam said, anything a bit more social would be great (go-karts, bowling etc) rather then staring at our feet in a car park!

Just a heads up, with my work schedule, I probably won't be able to attend that many meets anymore (I have off working hours).

A good idea from James (AHB11M) posted on the NSW forum.

Sunday arvo is always a great reason for a cold beer & a chat.
My personal favourite of late is the Espy on a Sunday arvo/evening!

Exclamation

I realy want to read ideas from those who don't often come out to play.
When we get some ideas I'll schedule a short drive and pub lunch one Sunday. Meet, greet and discuss.

At a guess, part of the problem there is with people being able to travel/have the time to get to cruises and other events. I'm sure I'm not the only one who is distance challenged, or has bad working hours.
