New BJII Owner in Canberra
Hey Guys,
Yesterday I bought my mate's 2002 323 Astina to replace my 2000 Volvo V40T4 that decided crap out. The red rocket (the 323) is a bit bashed around, but will do the daily duties. Has 181 000 km, and it cost me $500 with 7 months rego and good service history. Been a massive task this morning cleaning it as my mate just serviced and drove it. I already upgraded the stereo (the previous had a pro install but they cut all the wires) and I still have more cleaning inside to do. The boot is sorted, though the cover over the spare wheel could use a replacement. I also chucked in some LED interior lights, number plate lights and boot light, plus I took the roof racks off I need to clean up a rocker cover leak but I can't see anything else that it might get pinged for, for rego inspection. I came here for some answers to a couple of small jobs, and to also see who is around locally. Last edited by Paul0075; 13-01-2018 at 03:13 PM. Reason: To add a pic |

Thanks Haighie. At the moment I haven't got too many questions, and the ones I do have are minor. That said I do have oil weeping around the timing belt cover, which would suggest a seal needs doing, but I am also 20 000 km off timing belt being due. Might need to do it all at once, earlier.
I am also trying to find out whether I need to do a flasher swap or not if I go with LED bulbs. But not had a good chance to look into it yet. Paul0075 |
