How to remove steering column shroud?

How do you remove the steering column shroud so I can get to the wiper stalk?
I want to replace it with a variable intermittent one I got from a Ford Laser.
I unscrewed the 3 screws on the underside of the shroud but couldn't get it off.
Do I have to remove the steering wheel too?

Their is a way with removing the wheel but takes longer and I'm not keen playing near the airbag. Easiest method I answered in your other post
