Welcome to AGT
What kind of Astina? Or what year? If it's the Eunos 30X vs the 89-93 BG Astina (popup headlight one), then they're reasonably similar - they share a lot of the mechanicals. The 30X gets a sweet little 1.8 V6, the BG a 1.8 4cyl engine. The BG is probably more practical due to the 4 doors

Ah ok
Well, the BA is a bit more modern than the 30X, but they're still fairly similar. The BA was designed a little after the 30X and the interior is a nicer place to be (but that's my personal preference). Plus, the BA gets a slightly bigger engine, plus a couple of extra doors. And a lower opening hatch at the rear, which makes it easier to put things into it. Both have a reasonable amount of aftermarket support. The BA has more available here, but the 30X was fairly popular in the USA (where it was sold as a Mazda MX-3) so aftermarket parts are obtainable from there. As to which one's better...well that's really personal preference. As long as they've both had a 200000 kms major service (timing belt etc) and have some sort of service history, then either should be a good buy.

LOL no, not quite what i was saying.
Both the 30X and BA are a more sporty car and ride, and handle better as standard. Fit and finish and the interior quality is much butter than a Lancer An ex-gf had a Mirage, and that wasn't up to same sort of quality as a BA. the Mirage felt quite flimsy in comparison, i found

Having driven both and owned 2 V6 BA's I think the Astina is a far superior package.
Better to drive, more comfortable, handles brilliantly and very reliable. The lancer does not compare! Honestly, the feel of the astina when you drive it is very good.

Once you take it for a test drive, then try and drive something of equal value you will see that it is good bang for your buck.
It is a really nice chassis to work with... Very nicely balanced and with minor mods it will be a very nice ride.

I suppose it comes down to the V6 Astina being an almost $40k car when new, and Lancers being around the 20-25k mark. There's an extra $10k of quality and refinement.

No they are completley different cars.
The 626 is a larger car. And IMO nowhere as nice as the 323's Id suggest you have a look on www.redbook.com.au They have pics of cars and quite detailed information about every model available. |

The Autos aren't bad, but they're not as good to drive as the manuals, certainly.
