[color=#000000ost_uid2]G'day everyone,
I have happily found my way to your site. I have been seeking a place to ask all my dumb questions, and guess what? It's your lucky day!!!!! But seriously....... I found it really difficult to find something to take seriously (or something in English) because I love my Astina and find it's time to give her some get up and go! I have posted some questions in the Performance thread that I hope some of you can help me with. I bought it in December 2002 in Adelaide, drove it back to Canberra and hit a rabbit outside of Wagga that did $2800 worth of damage to it before I had even made the first payment on it. I cried!! Honest!!! Front grill, Air Con compressor, pipes, radiator ~ all gone! Yes, it was a rabbit, really! Hare, rabbit, thing with long ears that went poof! And my car was all smelly underneath ~ pheeeeeewwwwwww! I managed to hobble to Canberra, but by the next morning all the radiator fluid had leaked out. After calling the insurance company, the tow truck arrives. So it should get better now right? Nope! The tow truck dies and he jump starts it from my baby!!!! grrrrrrr....... Then there is the problem of not having my car for 2 weeks, then getting it back with a ****ty paint job..... Well...... After wrangling, it looks good now! Yay for our side! Then there is the story of the Mazda dealership that did the wrong service on the car and high pressure hosed the paintwork off the bonnet and claimed it was a dodgy paint job that would have peeled anyway...... but I will save that story for another time :: Anyway.......................... I hope you will take my humour the way it's meant (ie not seriously) and not mind helping this gal to get her car right. I look forward to talking with you at various times. Cheers, and happy motoring! T.[/colorost_uid2] |

[color=#000000ost_uid1]So it was a Gay Rabbit. Story gets better all the time.
Sorry to hear about your bad luck but hopefully you have had your bad day and it will be all good from here. Anyway that poofter rabbit is dead now so unless his boyfriend gets the gay mafia on you all should be sweet. So welcome to the group. Regards Mal [/colorost_uid1]

[color=#000000ost_uid0]G'Day mate,
Hope you find answers to all your questions. Bad luck with the rabbit, you must have either been 'haulin ass', or it was some mutated, giant rabbit! I hit one once, and it didn't leave a scratch (only doing about 50-60). Happy Driving Gaz[/colorost_uid0]

I laughed at the poofter rabbit remarks though!!!!! :laugh: And I figured like you guys, better to get the bad luck outta the way first! I love my Astina though, I had wanted one for literally years before I managed to find THE one! I will be sure to post some pictures soon, I even have the rabbit damage shots! [color=#000000ost_uid1]You can stick that curse **** where the sun don't shine.
Hate that crap. **** happens. Could you imagine how much we would here that crap if we were on a Commodore site. Mine was from pure stupidity wanting to watch who would win out of a drag race not thinking that the guy racing in front of me would stall his car.. :angry: No curse there just me being a worse driver than the idiot in front of me. Kitty, tell us about yourself. I didn't even realise ur a girl. I thought it was a drug reference like smoking parsley or tea leaves. I was thinking crushed up kitty litter smack head. Correct me if I am wrong !! Regards Mal[/colorost_uid1]

i think the rabbit trip was enough bad luck for the first year of astina life... plenty of us have had 'incidents' in the past year, so you are not alone there. cheers, Bill[/colorost_uid0] |

[color=#000000ost_uid0]Hiya Kitty,
Welcome! Pity about the rabbit incident. Its never good having your pride and joy defiled by sexually ambivalent rodents. :angry: So far the only thing that I've hit was a small bird. Flew across the road right on the deck and all I saw was feathers fly out the back. Touch wood that's the only thing! I've heard that if you hit a wombat with the diff of a 4WD then they explode. ??? I'm getting off topic now but hey. If you see an Astina towing a boat, that'll be me. Usually north of Woden. Cheers![/colorost_uid0]
