A Kiwi in Bathurst - New Astina owner
Hey all,
I'm a kiwi who has just moved across 'The Ditch' to the Motorsport 'Mecca' that is Bathurst. I was originally in Auckland. I'm a car nut. I've worked in the Automotive Parts industry for the last 8 years - from starting out on the counter in Repco/Appco stores to maintaining electronic auto part databases for Repco NZ and another third party company. So, I have an eye for vehicle codes and part numbers. I needed some wheels and found this '95 Astina V6 Hardtop for $2500 (which I ended up getting for $2k.) I came across this forum while doing my research on the model before I decided to buy it. Now that I own it, I figured I should join as I'm going to need some advice as I tidy it up. Some @#$% stole a side repeater in between my agreeing to buy it and taking delivery of it, so I've already modded it with clear side repeaters off eBay. >_> I'm currently looking for work, but once I have a steady income, I plan to do a bit of work on the car (or get it done by someone who knows what they're doing!) It's a bit of a mess, so there's plenty of work to be done! |

Thanks for the welcome.
Btw, I've been using the 'Mykar' handle for the last 15 years and have become accustomed to being referred to as 'Myk' (sounds like 'Mike'.) My name is Michael, so it fits well, and using 'Myk' helps to differentiate myself from other Mikes - because there's usually a few Mikes in most groups I join! |

My housemate took me for a drive around the Mount a couple of times when I first got here, but haven't taken my Mazda around it yet.
I want to get up there and take some photos, so I'll do that soon. |

It's great fun going around the track, even taking some of those corners at 60 is more than fast enough
