auto to manual conversion
hey guys, im currently driving an auto jap v6, and although there is some power to play with, a manual box for the car would mean that i would have a lot more to play with. how plauseable is the conversion? would i need to find a jap ecu programmed for manual, or would an aftermarket computer be easier to find?? what would be the rough cost? thanks guys

being a V6 id say its a BA hardtop or hatch. Someone here investigated doing a swap however i think it was in the $2-3000 price range. not sure though

im in the stages of working out how to do it as im seriosly over the auto, plus ive also read that the std auto cant hold any more than around 250hp then it just s#$ts its self, ive found this http://www.mx-3.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=34794 its for an mx3(eunos 30x) but its allmost exactly the same as an astina.
as for the ecu is conserned i think there is a whole diff computer for hte auto but u will have to check that out, and when u do find out tell us, i would like to know how hard the conversion was.

but i imagine it'll be a case of changing: gearbox (obviously) pedal box gearbox mounts ecu, but probably not wiring clutch lines? brake master cylinder clutch line and slave cylinder gearshifter and linkages centre console

Also may need drive shafts, clutch and flywheel.
May be cheaper to trade for a manual than do a conversion.
