EBC Brake pads

My brake pads are finally ready to be replaced (squeak squeak) and I've been trying to find someone who stocks, or can get EBC pads. Does anyone else down here in sunny melbourne run EBC pads and if so where did you buy them and how much were they for a front set?
Or can anyone suggest a suitable replacement pad that will perform as well as the green stuff pads.

Can only get EBC Green stuff for the front. Ferodo DS 2500 are the shiznit at $180/pr+, but don't leave much change for a short shifter. As to where to get? Farks me

Oh and another question, can you machine slotted rotors? The guy at Repco seemed to think they couldn't and they had to be ground down on say a milling machine or something similar.

He's got a 1.8 tho, so no rears listed by EBC. I guess he could take the gamble the the brake pads from the 2.0 are the same and will fit?

$235 Australian? I'm still wondering when our brake pads need doing....we got the car at 28k so doubt they were done already and its up to 60k..but they are still fine..and no warning sounds..and the mechanics haven't said boo. But knowing the way penfold mazda work..they don't tell you stuff like that as they know you will get them done elsewhere, so they tend to ring up and say we can't let that car leave here with those....(insert whatever they are trying to make money on), and when you say yeah I know I've got it booked in for later this week, tehy say they will write unroadworthy/unsafe in their service details. (The thing they last pulled me on, was not worn as much as they made out at all, I had checked it repeatedly!)

They bight real good, but for some reason, my breaks squeak now. I rang ABS and they said she'll be right mate, its just vibrations :S

When that light comes on it means that your brake fluid is low.

A lot of people are saying good stuff about QFM pads - apparently cheap and good. Made up in Qld ...

And you then use a syringe to draw some out if you need to.

When the pads get changed, 99% of the time at a guess the whole caliper comes off the car. Which means the brake lines get disconnected!

thus some fluid will leak out and the reservoir will need topping up in the end.

Ummm, hell no! There is no need to take the calipers off at all, unless you are doing something to an older caliper, such as replacing seals and inspecting piston/bores.

Agree with Chippa, You would only need to flip the calipers up out of the way not remove them.

I've had the Lucas on all four and they don't 'bite' they are very progressive and predictable with little to no fade. I've replaced the fronts with some cheapies and when I slam the brakes lucas on the rears out brake the cheapies on the front (something you don't wanna see in your rear view mirror).
