When I put the exhaust on it took about 2 weeks for the ECU to learn it, and then all of a sudden the economy goes up and there is power there. This is why I can't be bothered making changes on the dyno anymore. Oh well, I went to get a dyno last week, but I got held up a few minutes in heavy traffic and it started pissing down rain a few minutes before I got there, so they put someone else on that was already there. So I figure I will just wait until the ECU has learned the CAI, then get a dyno just so I know where I'm at. Then there will be another dyno with the underdrive pulley...

Update:
Not much has happened with the car since the last post. Some things are no longer with me though, ie: TWM shortshifter, K4R7BOY bushings, Injen, and Magnecor leads (which died) are all gone. However I do have different wheels - Arospeed RS-GT shadow chrome 17x7", colour-coded side indicators, 4000K Philips Blue Vision lights, Black SP20 handbrake/surround, shortened stock shifter with SAAS gearknob and a (camel) tow-bar. I spose I went through a few mufflers and an axle-back, but I still need to replace the exhaust due to defects anyhow... Other problems I have is an imbalanced flywheel which causes a shudder/vibration through the car... These two items really need immediate attention. But it's likely the car will go off the road for a month or two while these and some other things are getting done. The other things will include a significant NA power boost, embroidered SP18 black/grey leather interior with some paint+CF on the dash, illuminated SP18 scuffplates, SP18 decals (yes I know...) and some fancy exterior vinyl work. The most interesting thing to be happening soon is the front automatic engine damper conversion. If you read back through my old posts in this thread, this I found is the reason why the gay auto was so much smoother... Shhh! My own special anti-rattle/vibration and sound proofing treatments will be completed too... Well that just about covers it. So in a world where it seems everyone is trading out their Astinas, I actually remembered why I bought mine, and that I have a collection of parts sitting under and around my bed waiting to be used... Hmmm, who knows, there's no immediate plans to destroy my gearbox with 300+Nm torque any time soon.
Oh, I almost forgot: CUSTOM RACE ENGINEERED LSD!!! Sounds much fancier than it is... Gav. |

It's not a ghetto grip, it's closer to a MkI Mazdaspeed LSD.

The Areospeed RS-GT are the wheels i looked at before i settled on the RS5. Id like to see how the shadow black looks with the titanium grey.
Can't wait till you get to the supercharger. Did you get time to play around with the dash lights yet?

Hey Dean,
I haven't got to the dash lights yet as I haven't been able walk from a leg injury I got almost straight after my holidays began. I will post up piccies of how they go when I can get to them. Cheers, Gav. |
