blame seller or australia post - lhs a-pillar mould
*I meant blame australia post
got my a-pillar today from post office.. purchased on ebay for $25 + $12 postage went to open it up and much to my disgust, it was snapped, didnt bother opening it more, went back in to auspost and they said there's nothing they can do because it was regular post and packages in that category can be up to 20kgs and the seller didnt pack well at all. (bubble wrap tight around and newspaper taped around it. i went home fuming, decided to open it up carefully and my head almost exploded! IN FIVE F***ING PIECES, I HAD AN A-PILLAR IN!! almost could have cried, paying so little for something so hard to get a hold of :,( have contacted the seller: arrived today. wasn't packed very well and is broken very beyond repair. it is now useless. I talked to aus post and they said it was the way it was packed... I don't know what you'd like to do about it so please write me back as soon as possible i guess all i can do now is wait.. It's the seller's fault for inadequate wrapping.
Unfortunately, it's also your fault for not asking for it to be insured.

unfortunately damage via transit isn't really a valid reason for cancelling a transaction, unless it was already broken prior to being shipped (good luck proving it).
have a try though, you might get your cash back |

um no the part arrived in a condition other than that was stated in the auction/buyitnow
thats one of the reasons and you dont/cant really prove if it was broken in transit or prior so yeah. i suggest u fibreglass that one up but, as in so it is one piece again, cus what r u gonna get out of it, 25 back.. who gives a rats arse if u have 25 in ur pocket, that wont buy u another one |

transit damage and "not as the seller described" is a very grey line to travel. most of the sellers will be able to avoid the repayments with "didn't ask for insurance, damaged in transit" and that it was sold as a complete piece.

Disputes and Claims under Buyer Protection Policy
Reasons to File a Dispute. There are 2 reasons to file a dispute with PayPal, being either: 1. The item was not received. Buyers should wait a reasonable amount of time - at least seven (7) days - to receive the item, before filing a dispute for "item not received"; or 2. The item received is 'significantly not as described' in the eBay item listing. An item is 'significantly not as described' if, in PayPal's opinion, the seller misrepresented (including by omission of information or by giving incorrect information) the details of the item in a way that affects its value or usability. Please note that this does not include cases where you are merely disappointed with the item or where the item did not meet your expectations. Reasons that an item may be considered 'significantly not as described' include for example, but are not limited to, the following: 1. The item is a completely different item to that which was presented by the seller in the listing, e.g. an audio book instead of a printed book, a desktop computer instead of a laptop, a picture of an item instead of the actual item; or an empty box; 2. The condition of the item is significantly different. For example, if the item has clearly been used multiple times rather than 'almost new' or 'still in box' or is obviously repackaged rather than 'mint'; 3. The item is unusable and was not disclosed as such. For example, if there are missing major parts or components, will not function or turn on, or spoiled or past a relevant date. (NOTE: this applies to the item in its received state, no matter what the condition when it was sent); 4. The item is not authentic and was not disclosed as such. For example, if a fake or pirated item that was advertised as authentic or a completely different or inferior brand of a similar product; or 5. The item is missing a major portion or quantity. For example, if the buyer ordered 4 dozen golf balls but only received 1 dozen or 4 golf balls or the item is missing a primary component, like a blender missing a top or coffee maker missing the bottom plate. |

thats paypals buyer protection policy mate, not mine, if you sell a item and you do not specify pick up only then it is up to YOU to make sure that the item arrives safetly not the buyers responsibility. shipping insurance covers damage and lost property but if teh seller did not offer it its their responsibility
however i said this b4 if there was a option for insurance which was not ticked this dispute becomes very gray |

you dont have to be offered insurance to take it...you can contact the buyer before you pay for it and say it has to go with insurance...then you pay the extra for insurance...
at work here we dont offer insurance and rarely does something turn up damaged cause we pack it well...but some people are paranoid and say they need it with insurance or registered...theres never any issues... seller should of packed it better, but it is out of his hands as soon as aus post get it...he cant control anything else... Maximum Weight The maximum allowed weight of a parcel that can be lodged at a retail counter is 20kg." parcels up to 20kg have crushed and destroyed my item.." im sorry that means nothing to aus post...they would put the heavier stuff at the bottom not at the top...also they have crates...put 30-60 crates in 1 truck and they are 1.05m x 1.05m square...its how they pack there stuff... you can do absolutely nothing about it bud! i think your just going to have to leave it alone...you could give the guy feedback about not wrapping well...
