Not a big fan, as I think it will incourage people to drive around without Rego/insurance and even take the risk.
Plus is a unrego'd car is parked whos to tell if it's legal. you have to go do search this and then you can ring up the council and tell them to pick up the trash box of the tight arse Bogan -westy -Lebo - Wog - insert other rude terrible words to discribe your local waste of space HUMAN. More work left on me to do. Like I have time to do that now. Effiecnt my arse. Will see how many of these special new HP cars with the multipule cameras which track number plates pick up unrego'd cars.
Just wait till you get someone on here who gets hit by a unrego'd -fake or old or stolen numberplate cars crying about how there astina is now borken. - Remember it could be
you.

Other states have been doing this for a while. Guess you gotta look at them for possible outcomes and/or examples.

If the NSW RTA and the Police believe the system is going to work then we have to obey by there rules. Looks like a few states have already started this system anyways like Ryan said above. When next rego is due im sure they won't issue the sticker.

Actually, it's been happening for a while.

About two months ago, the partner of a guy at work had her car parked at Blaxland (Blue Mountains) shops when it was one day out of rego.

She had a visit from the boys in blue a couple of days later asking why.
They showed her footage as the camera swept past each car parked along the highway and stopped it at her's.

She was able to talk her way out of serious trouble (just a warning) in this case, but I wonder if a guy would be able to?

They've had the technology for years. It processes something like 6 plates a second.
Watching RBT you see a car drive past, opposite direction. Computer beeps, cop whips it around and chases down because of suspected suspended license driver.

they have had it for years but not in the numbers they have realesed now. You would of been lucky to see one of these extra fitted cars. Like the under cover HSV's and the WRx's they used at one stage. But now they have more and you will see more of it.

The main issue is the technology is now lighter and smaller.

I only use to see these cars beacuse of my old work location was next to the impound yard for cars involved in fatals. Still as far as I am aware.

As for saving money - BS. Anyone whole belives that is as stupid to belive that Mr O Barrels BS about oh save 100K - yes 100K only $100,000. (I once ****ed a Hooker who made that in a month). On NSW water treatment system. Yes a water testing program. You know why it was so cheap. High school kids were doing it as part of the HSC. basic testing of our water to make sure it was CLEAN.
I know some of you are young and might not remember about ten years back we had scare that water had some nasty disease in it and we had to boil water before we could drink it.
Yeah $100K program that protected NSW - but oh NO we save money.

but Rego stickers Original meeting the car - EG like you buy a A9X genuine I want a rego sticker on it with it's number plate stamped etc. Now that would add value.
