Sams 2002 SP20 Audio Install
Hello my name is Sam, you probably said hello here
I will soon be overhauling the stock audio with the list below, purchased from JB. 1. Head Unit: Double Din Pioneer FHX755BT 2. 6” speakers for the rear doors: JL TR600CXI 3. Speaker amp: Pioneer GM6500F 760W 4 channel 4. Sub amp: Pioneer GM550T 2 channel 820W (bridgeable) 5. 12” alpine sub 6. (need to buy) speakers for the front doors, either some 5x7 for easy installation or some more 6” and make a mount. 7. (need to buy) Wiring conversion loom from Mazda to Pioneer for the head unit – Do these exist? I have already successfully removed the door panels and the stock head unit (what a bitch) So if anyone has any tips or pointers to save me any trouble during the installation that would be great. Also where is the best place to be looking for wiring info, I have searched high and low but nothing corresponds correctly to what I know, LEFT REAR: Negative = Pink, Positive = Yellow/Black. |

conversion usually consists of mazda>iso then iso>pioneer, can be sourced from most auto stores that sell stereos.

Hey Sam, I bought the exact same head unit for my car but haven't got to install it yet. I've tried to look for wiring info as well but no luck. I've also tried to buy a wiring harness for my car but apparently they don't make it for my model ('02 SP20 sedan). Tell us how you go.

For audio wiring, try installdr.com
They have a pdf for mazdas, someone maybe able to link to it. As for 5x7 alpine had a type-r component set out a couple of years back. I have two sets sitting in my shed, pity I'm on the wrong side of the tasman. |
