Fair enough, i didn't think anyone would have swapped CP stuff into one lol
I just see MS shocks for them every so often and wondered

I'm pretty sure if you used CP struts in a BJ, it won't be much of a problem... they're probably valved better as it's a heavier car

so it seems my sp20 is running on 3 cylinders :/
I replaced the sparkplugs and saw now change ion performance. So i started pulling out the ignition leads/ coils whilst the engine was running and noticed increased RPM when pull each one out... except for the far left ( RHS of car ). is this a suitable replacement ?? has any1 used these ? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Ignition-...60796255936%26 OR should i replace all 4 ?? any recommendations for replacing the whole set ? Keep in mind the car has done 230k kms and they're probably the original ones that came on it. |

It could be your leads or it could the coilpacks themselves. Probably replace the leads first (there are only two of them) as they are cheaper.

Anybody use bowden's own 'leather love' before? Picked up a bottle today to clean up sp20 steering wheel. I'll see how it goes this weekend.

All righty... Just for ****s 'n giggles I am putting a carputer in the ute. It is going to be raspberry pi based with a 7" touch screen and reverse camera. It will have the ability to stream into my double din HU which lives just above the trans tunnel behind the gearstick (not the place to put a touch screen).
This leaves nowhere to put a screen unless I mount it above the dash a-la new Mazda 3 style. The screen it's self is just a screen and has no surround... Now to the problem... I'm looking for something to build the screen into that will hold the screen and I can modify to blend into the dash. If this works I may duplicate it into the BA if it ever returns.

So my girlfriend is enthusiastic for a first car, and we had a look at a '96 (from memory) BA/BH 323 yesterday. I didn't have a particularly thorough look under the bonnet, but can anyone tell me whether they all came with BP engines, or if some in Aus have the B6 or whatever it is? I think this is roughly what it looked like.
It at least had the curled intake manifold (car knowledge don't fail me now). |

BA Astina 1.8 I4 and 2.0 V6
BA/BH Protege 1.6 and 1.8 I4s. That manifold above is the 1.6

Ahh, righteo. I wasn't sure (i.e. not a clue. haha). It seemed pretty nippy for a 1.6 if that's what it was. Fairly rough around the edges in a lot of places; right headlight bracket snapped fully; impact damage on the front left, right rear quarter; the usual fading on the roof and boot. The interior has a huge crack above the instrument panel on the dash from sun damage I assume, but otherwise is very clean. Has 117,000kms on the clock and they're asking $2500. Is that about reasonable? Other examples on the market have much more kms and more asking price, but wondering if the damage alone is enough to warrant the lower price?

the engine number is a dead giveaway for what the engine is. rego sticker, rego paper, rwc paperwork and change of ownership paperwork would all have it.

Random question. My BJ2 SP20 (with standard suspension) steering 'hops' during corner exit. Anything more than Grandma speed exiting corners and the steering wheel hops like mad under acceleration. Sometimes even just driving a corner at normal pace and if the road surface is a bit rough or uneven the steering wheel will shake and car wants to skip. Other than this the steering is jam.
Front shocks feel ok. Hard to decompress. Passes the old push down repeatedly and let go trick. Returns straight away and no rebound. What could be doing this? Lower control arm bushes look like they might be worn but hard to tell. |

Could be the control arm bushes, loose steering components ie. Rack ends or tie rod ends,
Could me many things best to go get it checked out, otherwise you could be told to try multiple things they may not be the issue
