Was thinking of maybe doing like an amazing race/ fun rally where you have check points with clues, work in teams around like the sunshine coast with prizes for the winner?
Just an Idea my girlfriend came up with thought i'd throw it out there, What you guys think? |

so a scav hunt with cars
sounds like fun but y not in brissie?? and it can be orginised by 10 ppl for eg 10 ppl make 10 clues for 10 locations (ie 10 locations overall). then the clues get sealed and rotated to the next person. than that person puts that clue in the location where their clue (that got rotated forward) points to. then each person starts at the same place same time and goes to their location 1st and from there figures it out (collecting 10 clues, this way there is no order and less chance of runnin in to each other/following each other) so point is to collect 10 clues 1st also by rotation as the next person has the previouses persons clue, you will find your clue last sort of thing this could work, but this would be easier with no more than 4 spots, no access to the net to be fair and keeping it all within 50km from each other MAX so like draw a circle on the map and we can only pick places within the circle im in |

i was thinking if there were 5 teams u make 5 identical sets of clues and to win u have to have all the clues. when i say clue i mean its a letter instructing u sort of where to go next and to win u have to have all of them. but yeah taking a photo is much better and if both photo and phisical is present thats a winner right ther
i beleive i missed out to say that each person/team that writes the clue only knows of their clue and noone elses. that way u have to go through each of them. eg me, marc, mat and ryan write a clue each about a location then i pass myn to marc, he passes his to mat, mat passes his to ryan and i get ryans clue. they are all sealed then i take ryans clue and stick it in the location that my clue describes. marc takes my clue and sticks it in the location that marcs clue describes mat takes marcs clue and stick it where mats clue describes ryan takes mats clue and sticks it where ryans clue describes we all go to start then we go to our locations (that we know already) i need to then find ryans clue (i know where it is but so this is the start of the trail) then ryans clue will point me to ryans location where mats clue is i have to then find ryans location and find mats clue mats clue at ryans location will then point to mats location, so i have to find mats location when i find mats location i will find marcs clue which has marcs location then i have to go find marcs secret location to find my clue pointing me to my location but since i have already been there i go to finish which is the same place we started as marc said at each location take a photo to prove u didnt just bribe the others for the clues hahaha. photo must be time stamped, either in the photo itself or in the properties. they will also ofcourse be in cronological order (time stamp will confirm this ) sounds like somethin fun? also the clues have to be highly visible eg NOT STUCK UNDER A ROCK this way everyone gets to play and noone has to be incharge Last edited by 70NYD; 18-04-2010 at 11:36 PM. |

too complicated tony.
1 person to organise keeps it simple and more fun for everyone else. basicly need a start point, tell peps how many km they will travel, clues to get from start point to finish point. you only tell the peps the general area of finishing, but not the actual location. eg redcliffe area. no gps, no mobile phones. timed between points. each car departs start 90 seconds apart to make sure other cars do not follow eachother. at certain point along the way, eg "at 75km, on the side of the road is a white sign with what writing on it?" each missed answer = +5 mins to time. so 5 missed questions = +25 mins. so you gotta make sure you stop and answer the questions. to make sure no one is speeding, also have a set time that the course should take, so anyone that is too fast, will also be penilized for speeding. +1 mins for every minute you are too fast. (although you could just wait around the corner from the finish, look at your watch, and get moving just before the aloted time. each team would know how much time it should take, as it would be one the paperwork. so the team with the lowest time wins! all cars have 1x driver and 1x navigator. one to drive safely, the other doing the paperwork. passengers will be okay, but just make sure they ain't back seat drivers. lol have a bbq at the finish point. you probably want it 200km/3hrs max. i would assume a fee of $10 per car should cover the organisers costs. (fuel when doing prep work and finish line bbq.) something around nebo, dayboro, d'aguilar would be fun. Last edited by project.r.racing; 19-04-2010 at 06:35 AM. |

that sounds good ryan,
my girlfriend has informed me we have to have one when she gets her p's so maybe we can do a brisbane one around november or decemeber? and do the strathpine to sunny coast this time round? i was thinking may, june, july time? We could also in the future tie in into a camping weekend and make it a bigger event? However this time i was thinking of charging the team a certain entry cost, spilt the profits half to astina gt and give the rest to some charity? |

nothing is booked in (so to speak) for those months. so go for it. i'd be happy to help organise it. i'd also invite a few other communities ie clubcj to boost numbers. i've done these events many times before, so i won't cry if i miss out.
the fee is just to cover food items and the 1-2 tanks of fuel they may use running the course a few times. it's only far that the organiser be compensated for his/her time and vechicle costs while doing the organising. Last edited by project.r.racing; 19-04-2010 at 10:37 AM. |
