I thought Brisbane was supposed to be cheaper! Beaurepaires want $285 for a Toyo Proxes4 17". What a laugh.

Well seeing this is a random question thread (and my question below is random), thought i'd see what your thoughts are...
Im in 2 minds about either putting rims/tyres & dvd player for the Astina or getting another Gemini in about 3 months time. Why? Cause im sick of driving Tashs Lancer to and from work, and well its been for sale for now on 2 months with little interest. I only drive it as Tash herself is too afraid to drive it, being all pretty and that... SO, is it worth throwing $2k at the astina or $1.5k at purchasing/registering a Gemini ($700 for the car + $300 rego + $150 insurance & $350 on whatever else)?? Its been near 3 years since I have owned another Gem, and well im kinda growing old of the Astina . Plus i can leave the lancer sit at home till its sold, and get another car for Tash till its sold... so not leaving us without a car... Cheers Marc

tan leather is classy.
black leather with red stitching is sporty. bright colours are tacky. |

Getting a Gemini will re-ignite that spark as my it was first car before the SP20 was one, well several all put together dark grey or black leather with blue stitching IMO. Im going to be replacing all the grey in the stock SP20 interior to a nice bright blue Velour... not till after huly next year tho

But really, why? Would you ever use it? When would you think "hmm, I think I'll watch a DVD... in my car." If you'd want to watch DVDs so badly between places with a TV and a DVD player, why not just get one of those portable players, which you could take other places too? It'd cost you far far less than installing one in the dash of your car, and be more practical. I really don't think it's worth hundreds of dollars to be able to play movies on the road. Think about what else you could do with the money, like maybe buy enough petrol to go 5000kms or so.

Why? I am constantly on the road doing 200km round trips to Toowoomba & back every weekend, and well I find that im forever changing cd’s, so im not just watching dvd’s, I can put soo many more songs on a DVD-R disc without the worry of changing a disc for ages. Yes I know I can just plug in a mp3 player or ipod, but that means more wires dangling from the cabin… Im also constantly looking at ways for the car to benefit my needs, and well this is why I have gone this route.
