I've JVC DVD players in both cars and that's the reason i bought them- a DVD worth of MP3s in better than some damned Ipod that i have to plug in/find somewhere to store. I don't use it as a movie player that much.

i have a dvd player, and two screens...
ill admit it more of a wanky mod to be able to watch dvd's, but i have honestly used it a bit. i have about 5 copies of ignition dvd in the glove box, that i can watch whenever im waiting to pick someone up. it comes in handy when your bored!

IMO ipod is better than a DVD full of MP3s because of easo of selection. you can go to artists, playlists, songs and skip through things faster my system runs of my ipod and as my HU has a integrated screen i can watch movies from the ipon on it

So went to tyre place today.. "Woops we've misplaced the tyre you ordered". So they gave me a 2nd hand one until they can get me another tyre - but they've put a different profile on.
So I had 215/40/17 on the front, theyve changed one and the second hand is 215/45/17. So I've got two different profiles on the front. Is this bad? Y/N

One of the many reasons you have a differential.
If you're concerned about it then put it on the back where it'll make no difference.

I'm asking if I should be concerned

for a day or 2 driving, and no high speed cornering, then no problem...

That's something for you to decide...
The differential will compensate for the size difference but the spider gears will need to work to do that. In heavy applications this will create a little more heat and on the highway the speedo will show fractionaly slower.

Well I don't have time to get to the tyre place until next week (after xmas) - and I have to drive about 250km Christmas Eve then back... so it would be best to do a bit of a switch and get the rear with the same profile on the front?

Oh my sincerest apologies you two. How selfish of me to waste your time.
I guess when I want to clarify things that I don't really understand I shouldn't ask again, because it's already been asked before. Woopsy. Maybe I thought the different rim size was the main factor last time, maybe it was because I thought tyre places would do things to your care that wouldn't harm them. Maybe one day, when I know lots about cars and people seek my advice, I can be a grumpy smartass too

Question:
Has anyone done a 'Brazilian' on a BG astina. For those that don't know, a brazilian is shaving off the rear spoiler. |
