A draw through system is much easier as long as you don't have too longer pipe between turbo and engine. Too long would be an FMIC but you can run a stock carb.
Wow.. That's very help mate thanks

I think I'll have to do a efi setup..

is that just to save soldering etc? id assume theyd be relatively standard pins, but they probably wont be cheap! youd need a crimper suited to the job.

I've used three bond, its good stuff.

A question, does anyone know a decent mob that rebuilds Getrag boxes? Specifically Mitsubishi ones. A good exhaust place would be awesome too

Coolant suggestions

So I am going to swap in the new radiator and fans this coming weekend. At the moment I have some Nulon Green Long Life Coolant mixed in a 2(water):1(coolant) ratio. I am planning to buy another litre of coolant and add this with another litre of water to arrive at a 40% coolant / 60% water ratio.

Before I do this, I have been looking around and there seems to be a lot of chatter about whether to use red or green coolant. Most seem to say either is fine as long as the cooling system is completely flushed so you don't mix the two different types.

I have also read that the Red type coolant is better for aluminium radiators (which my new one will be). Yes, I know the SP20 came with Green coolant from the factory.

So, my questions are:
What is the best colour? Red or Green?
What ratio is suggested? i.e. 50% / 50% or 60% / 40% or 67% / 33% (water / coolant)
Any recommended brands? i.e. Nulon or dealership?

The guys who made my alu radiator said to only use GM green coolant. Something to with the way it reacts (or more to the point, doesn't) with the aluminium. They listed a whole heap of reasons, but it was a while ago so the rest has slipped my mind.

Is that they stuff they call DexCool?

Thanks for the info Dan I am definitely looking at it from the angle of minimising any corrosion in the radiator or engine block, rather than from the performance side of things

Then use deminerialized water also.

I recently did a coolent change to Nulon Green. The dude said to used a 1/3 blend. But I spoke to him about sprint days/car abuse, so he said go 1/2 blend.

Since I moved recently, I had to find a new parts supplier. So I did some probing questions for the business and this bloke. Turns out he was a machanic for 15 years, and wheel aligner and suspension fitter for another 15 years, and used to race Alfas in the 80s or something. And currently a part guys in a auto shop. So I'm assuming he knows his stuff. I was very happy to stumble onto him by accident. Much better the the SCA/Autobahn mech noobs that know nothing.

Oh yes, demineralised water will definitely be used

I am going to go with 60% water / 40% coolant mix as water is the better heat exchanger and shouldn't need to much ant-freeze / anti-boil protection from the glycol.

More concerned with the anti-corrosion elements in the various types of coolant (green, red, orange, blue etc) and what is best for me engine and new aluminium radiator.

Both peices can be taken out within a minute (and I mean both within a minute )

Centre Dash peice = fold the centre vents downwards, grab onto the ledge thats revealed and pull back - then all you have to do is disconnect the climate control plugs

Centre console/drink holder = pull the drink holder flap upwards, should pull straight out (dont worry, it shouldn't break )

Hope that helps! BTW, what are you doing with them, getting them painted or wrapped in vinyl?

Cheers
Marc
