The track is really smooth guys, they run proper timed events on it and one of the reasons I kept getting bumper last year was because after it rains a lot, they have to truck in more special dirt and level the track out.

You'll be right mate, kinda hard to destroy anything there. I remember putting my crap tyres on the front because I thought the dirt would hurt them. Turns out they were even worse on dirt than on the road. So put the semis on the front and it turned the car into a drift monster! Had guys on the sideline asking WTF was in my car. They honestly thought I had done some kind of RWD mod.

If any of you are worried, the track is SO hard its not even funny. Just don't go in the loose stuff unless you want to slide or create a nice spray of dirt.

the very back corner on the inside sometimes becomes badly corrigated, but it is 50% wider than the rest of the track and if you just run the corner wide, you miss the corrigations.
best tyres i've ever used on that track were R888s. derb - how'd you go with the phone calls? Last edited by project.r.racing; 16-05-2012 at 05:48 PM. |

OK, I have left messages for the owner to call me back, but I will be booking a time in August, most likely August 5 which is a Sunday. It will be a half day at this point, which is 4 hours on the track. And we need 10 entrants to make it $70 per car. Spectators are free and if you feel like it you can let others drive your car. If there is more than 1 driver per car I'll those people work out who is paying how much of the $70 entry fee.
DATE: Sunday, 5th August [tentative] REQUIREMENTS TO ENTER TRACK: - Standard requirement of long sleeve cotton shirt/long pants and a helmet - No racing/CAMS type of license is required, and technically since it's private land, you don't even need a drivers license - Cars are self-scrtineered, so make sure your car is good to go before the day [Any kind of big oil or coolant drops will most likely piss off IWMAC and might incur a cleanup fee of some type. Never seen or heard of it happening though] RECOMMENDATIONS: - Bring your own food and drinks and a cooler. No BBQ facilities. Toilets will be available during the day. - If you've got a good set of sticky track tyres, RUN THEM! Serious on this one, when I went out on my street tyres I got understeer, so switched to track spec rubber and it was beautiful. It's dirt, so there will be bugger all wear and tear on the tyres. - Be prepared to clean the hell out of your car. Due to the track getting wetted down frequently to stop dust, you will find giant clumps of mud/dirt under your car and in the wheel wells. - Bring a full tank of fuel, the closest BP Ultimate [if required] is not exactly close. Questions?? Please confirm your interest in the list below. ENTRY LIST FOR AUGUST 5TH: 01. derb - BG Astina 02. 03. 04. 05. 06. 07. 08. 09. 10.

I'll be able to bring a spare I reckon. I've got several mates with helmets but not all are going to come to the day. Let me know closer to the date if you want Rhys and I'll secure one for you.
