i dont think under 25s can get insurance for turbos, n nah i dont wanna go wit just car cus when i got a quote for this car it was astronomical, thats y i decided to stick with shannons. insurance is costing me only around $700 a year for a agreed maximum value that they will go for ($13000) and i will never ever have a car without insurance cus in the end if anything happens you mite have nothing to fall back on then everything you put in to it you will loose.
but ye u have to run lower comression pistons (just means that they are sitting lower at top dead centre giving a larger smallest volume ) honestly but even after the petrol prices went down abit (130!! its still fkn huge i cant beleive i said they went down) i dont think i can afford to run/maintain a turbo, and insure it, and afford the petrol so this isnt gonna go ahead not for another few years till i finish my degree |

at least AAMI is dropping the premium when i hit 21 ($1450 to $1200) if i don't have any crashes that i make a claim for, unfortunately thats September next year.. did anyones insurance go up when they told their insurer they had mods? mine is on the books for 17" wheels and exhaust and they didn't increase it so i got them to put lowering, extractors and sound system on as well and it hasn't changed, they just said to tell them when it gets done so they can send an inspector out to pass it.

AFAIK Shannon's only insure under 25s. AAMI will also have a cry if you're young + modified and try and transfer you to Just Car Insurance, at which point I told them I'll find another company

JustCar has better customer service than AAMI.
I really don't know why everyone gets so uptight about JustCar. They offered me a $450 cheaper price than Allianz on my premiun 3 years ago. I also just had a claim and they approved it over the phone and allowed me to pick the repairer I wanted. Ryan p.s. Insurance is the last of our worries if you are planning to add a turbo to your car. |
