Just a quick update on what's going down lately. Thanks to Dan who sourced a set of TE37's from the land of the rising sun. They are perfect and as an added bonus 2 of them still have at least 80-90% of tread. So i'll be strapping them to the fronts and watching my times drop by seconds, well at least 1 second would be good. Sprints are on this sunday and i will post results if i have a win with times.

Have a win? Well yes i did! But it took some work wrestling the car round all day too finally get it right. Just imagine, you've got some super sticky rubber on the front and some fairly sticky but mostly road going tyres on the back. Then ask yourself which end would loose out out in a comp to see which holds better. Answer: The rear! It felt like the back had a mind of its own resulting in 2 spinouts and a lot of twitchy, hairy moments. I did end up getting 1 decent lap in in race 3 after 3 laps of being stuck behind an Ford XR6 (he is fast but i just got the right run out of the last corner) resulting in a near 1/2 a second faster than my best 1.09:61. I will be purchsing a full set of semis next so the back will do the same as the front, GRIP!

Only on the front with Bridgestone Potenza RE01-Rs. They are heaps sticky but i will get some rubber for all round soon cos they scrub on the back cos the profile is way too big.

The RE01Rs really interest me, but the price turns me off. Very pleased to hear you had a win today.

Did you adjust your dampers much to compensate for the wagging tail?

Couldn't get to them very easily but i don't think it would help as it was letting go in the most unusual parts of the track. I was happy with the only lap that the arse wasn't twitching or i was facing the wrong way!

Looks tough with the bigger profile hehe

Was coming down extremely fast and the rear let go halfway round the corner. The front could handle it but to many G's on the rear and had to much momentum to drive out of the predicament.

Well HI! Its been a while tween drinks so i thought id pop in to let you know whats going on with the 20. It's been almost 2 years since i had a moment at Karousel, Lakeside I finally bit the bullet and decided to get the thing fixed. I had to have 5 things done to get it back to its original glory. The bonnet and front bar had to be turfed, replaced and repainted, LH guard had to be beaten a little and repainted, LH door repainted and a new genuine LH light assembly. $3100+ later its all back to normal apart from losing a few stickers which was no big deal.

I have also gone a different direction with the wheels although the black lenso's were good the TE37's were better, so once again bit the bullet and got rid of the tyres on them and went for a Federal R-SR (Treadwear 120). Thats trackday warrior Sh!t. In the last 3 weeks i've repainted a grill that i had and eyelids i had lying around and put them on (pics soon) but here are a few pics after 16" TE37's, new tyres, panel fixage and a little tweak to the suspension.

Enjoy
Dean

I know RIGHT! The only con..... the offset TE37 vs Stock, +33 vs +50.
The wider track though has made it very stable under all conditions.
