the center speaker grill always looked like a good location. Or mounted on the trim at the side of the windscreen. I like the way Dan has his , or for a more covert location, the fold-down coin / crap compartment under the steering wheel is a good place. If you hide the screen away you can still have a manual boost guage to see the boost levels

but have you seen the new display units for the V500... they are VERY ugly and wont go with the new colour scheme. and there screen is too large to do what dan did with his and yes i love his idea too.

hmm i may look into that idea but about maybe putting it in one of the glove boxes or maybe having something looked at with the centre speaker cheers

wicked build there ...

as people have mentioned, make sure you get some really nice high rate injectors, otherwise you'll have wasted the rest of the fuel system

naturally, the place that normally makes your custom intake will frequently also be making a custom exhaust ... covered ...

one thing I'd flag for you is, make sure you have the crank etc balanced ... it'll help keep the engine smooth and intact at the high end of the rev range ... while, with a T28, I don't think you'll need to be running a high rev range, it's insurance

also ... look into getting a decent oil cooler ... which leads me to guages ... I'd normally get boost, EGT, A/F ratio (this can be covered by getting a wideband O2 sensor as they normally have a dash mountable display), and oil pressure ... but that's my preference ... if the first 3 spike or the last one drops, you shut down to try and save the engine ... the only others I'd suggest would be water temp and an accurate tach ... mind you, if you aren't going to be revving beyond the standard range, you'll be covered with the stock tach

Best advice I've ever read about guages was posted recent on PF... Basically to get hold of a high pressure set oil pressure switch.. ie one that closes at 20psi not the usual 5 or 8 PSI. Then hook this up to a really big bright red idiot light (high intensity LED for example) right in the field of view...

The light will come on far quicker than the guage will react and it's in your face. Also can be added to with some basic electronics so if a mega-lean occurs under load/boost it does the same.

In short guages are nice but you need to look at them all the time for them to have real value, a big dummy idiot light serves you all of the time!

And yes I need to add the idiot light back to Stinky as it's MIA. Then again I may resolve that att he same time as the oil-cooler as the take-off for that has unions for temp and pressure senders...

A.

Please don't feel obligated to answer and you are under no pressure to, I'm just being nosy.

Cheers & good luck - that's one mighty awesome shopping list!

if i remember right jaycar has kits you can rig up to set a light off from a gauge, and i think it was possible for that light to be triggered from multiple gauges. i agree on the idiot light principle, same basis as the shift light, its much easier to react to it and notice it than the tacho.

skitz i jumped on the wolf site, you're right about ugly displays, can you hide it in the little compartment to the right of the wheel? the one that drops down.

Lol kitty, if he had won lotto he'd be off test driving ferraris, not playing around with 10+ yr old mazda's
