yes but the issues with the busy places is theyll be all family orientated so it would be harder to just let loose and have fun...specially later at night...that was the joys of dorrigo...
but im sure central NSW would be like that too

A bit of a heads up just to ensure we plan things appropriatly.
Halls Gap is about 30km from Stawell which hosts the Stawell Gift at Easter time. This will meen a bit more traffic on the way to Halls Gap (at least as far as Ararat) and a bit more patience required by everybody. On the bright side most of them will not venture too far from Stawell so all we have to do is avoid this small part of Victoria.

If i have my car up and running i don't think i'd miss it for the world, i'm in WA but that won't stop me driving to the other side of oz. If your cruises are anything like the ones we have here it would be fun no matter where you go.
1 year (my first cruise) about 15 of us jumped in our cars one day and just drove, from esperance (WA near the bite kinda) we had no plans, we ended up turnin around for home after we nearly hit Melbourne :P It was the most fun eva, one night we stopped at a farm, they let us all crash in there front paddock. We took back roads everywhere, there are some great driving roads out there, you just have to get lost and find them :P

uhhhhhh maybe I'm just getting old ... but there is a legal distinction that used to be in place ... the speed restrictions placed on licences are just that, a licence restriction ... they aren't a road regulation
as such ... if your Ps come from a state that allows learners to do whatever the speed limit is, it doesn't matter where you are in Australia, you drive that limit ... my age kicks in when I try to remember what the rules are for P platers in the ACT ... I wouldn't the foggiest because I got my licence before many P platers were born ... ack

can you find some evidence to back this up - quoting someone off a forum wouldnt help much when im pulled over with cops |

Take a look at your local RTA web site. If it's unclear then give them a call and ask them where on their web it's located.

i rang up qld transposrt about it 5 years ago when i was driving to sydny on my L's, its a licence condtion of nsw ... not a road condition ... of course this was back in the day before you even had to display L plates!
