The 929 is RWD but that shouldn't matter the disk sits on a hub.

Here we go one finished caliper assy beside a standard one. I need to test fit on the car and get some brake pads.
They won't be going on for a few weeks as I've picked up some speeding invoices recently The pics are a little large, my batteries were getting flat and the flash didn't work properly.

The 626/Subie combo bolts to the Astina in the right place.
The BAs 274mm rotors are too big for the GD brackets. The smaller GD disks have a center hole 8mm smaller than the BA. GD 626 disks are more popular than the BA V6 ones so they should be cheaper before machining.

i think you missed the point ross.
3 reasons to go from 4 to 5 stud is:- 5 studs = more options for wheels etc V6 brakes = bigger brakes easy straight swap using whole hub asssembly if they wanted to stay 4x100 - then this thread wouldn't have started me thinkz. ryan |

The V6 brake caliper will not bolt to the 4 stud knuckle, the bolt placements are different. Both 4 and 5 stud knuckles will bolt directly to the suspension strut, lower 'A' arm and steering arm and so are interchangeable without altering any suspension components.
The hub (the bit that rotates) can be swapped between the 4 and 5 stud knuckle so you don't need to go 5 stud to get the bigger brakes, this means you will need to either have an undrilled V6 disk drilled for your 4X100 studs or find a disk that is close enough with the 4X100 already drilled. Some people have apparently used the NA Mx-5 disk. --o0o-- OR Change to the V6 assemblies front and rear and buy new wheels.

so what your saying??? forgive me if im 100% wrong
got to wreakers..get a pair of BA V6 hubs (complete) remove everthing!!! from them push out the wheel bearing/center etc... replace it with a BG 4x100 CV, bearing setup etc go and get some 2 pot Subi cali's..do a hybrid with the BA stuff get some larger 4x100 mx5 rotors if so that seams really easy for a brake upgrade and bolt it all in to a BG mazda?

The BA upgrade could be step one. The Subie caliper could be step two and should work with the Mx-5 disks you would need to use the 626 brackets to mount the caliper to the knuckle as well as the 626 brake pads.
So far it's a work in progress.

Essentially are, or are? Same rotors and pads?

Not exactly a 5 stud conversion remark but just overall brake upgrades but
MX5Plus are offering a 275mm rear upgrade package as a bolt on to earlier NA and NB models. http://www.mx5plus.com.au/part_displ...?part=32&cat=2 I have asked them if this includes an adapter bracket or if the calipers are made to suit the larger rotors. Will advise answer. Now I just need to find how the NB8B caliper mounting holes go against BA V6 or BA 4cyl mounting holes.
