Does this item simply lower your gear knob height? Or actually shorten throws cause I don't see how it shortens throws from image above
Hey mikey pm him tell him to stop sale on eBay u will give him $50 cash lol an I'll come visit

Phil, if you get it just note that your shift knob may not fit the thread, Mazda used two different threads on their cars and it seems they changed them whenever.

I put in $45 as you can get similar cheap ones off ebay for $62 delivered.
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Mazda-MX3...#ht_500wt_1180 But if some one wants to keep bidding on it they are welcome I have a Mazdaspeed leather gearknob on my car ATM so it had better fit. If not I will just get one from the US like this but minus the knob http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/92-03-Maz...ht_5517wt_1163 Last edited by phildough; 15-11-2011 at 10:59 PM. |

I am almost certain that the product is the same length as stock. However the fulcrum had been moved to gain mechanical advantage. It acts just like a lever. They've moved the ball pivot thing up the shifter so that a smaller movement in the car equates to a large throw down below. Because the ball is sitting higher up but still mounts in same place you lose in car height on the shifter. If that explanation doesn't work for you, grab a pen or pencil, grip it in the centre with two fingers so u can pivot it, then move it back and forth like a shifter. Experiment with different pivot points and how much movement you get on each end.

I stopped bidding ages ago when I saw the price on it.
But I ask why when one person says they are going to bid on it do others just push the price up for the end buyer. I think if only one person had bidded on this it would have gone for maybe $10. For the same price as you paid for that cheap copy Im going to buy a much better new one shipped from canada for the same price!!! |

I personally went to $30 on that shifter, as soon as it came up as outbid on Tuesday night at 10.40pm I left it at that..

Yeah true, but I thought if I posted I was bidding on something it would mean others wouldn't bid on it,
It just means by the three of us bidding against each other it just pushed the price from $5 to $60 which is more than whats its worth. Sorry to the winner for making you pay way more than you should have. Thats why I pulled out early. |

I think I paid about $55 for my cheap one, even at $65 it's a worthwhile mod Unless your gearbox is any worse than than they are normally because it makes it 10x harder to get it into first or second.
