Because people like me work through xmass... And only get public holidays off.
So those days are busy. Where as Easter public holidays are an extended weekend and generally nothing is planned. For a greater attendance... Easter works better...

I'm like Ryan, I can have unlimited holidays whenever. I know uni students won't come over Christmas as they're too busy working through it, i know many people do this to afford a holiday / save. If it could be a random week in the year, maybe a show holiday (obviously only for one city) but people who really want to catch up will, regardless. I'd choose something a little warmer maybe in Feb etc.

Keen to come if I still have Ashlee by then, although no full license for a few years means I probably will.
This will only get serious once we book a place and have definite costs so people can save accordingly (or pay off cards etc) Keen to see this go somewhere and meet you all! |

I'd be pretty keen to come for a cruise, not like we have many here in SA anyway... Would be good fun!
I'm with Ben, I can do late Jan and early Feb too, uni goes back at the start of March for me so that's no real big deal. If that's when the cruise goes ahead, I could be spending my bday interstate

Make a poll with dates, leave it for awhile, date with the most votes win... Simple

Yes do that!
Options i say are: Late Jan-early Feb - Say between the 20th Jan to 20th Feb (Pick a weekend between there) Easter Break: Good Friday -29th March - Easter Monday 1st April 2013 or Winter School holidays. Giving the working type TONS of time to get a Friday off. Dates are 25th June - 14th July (Uni goes back the 22July, but everyones is different) |

Also, i'd like to add, that winter school Holidays are a whole year away. Surely, everyone can get their act together for the Late Jan or early Feb trip. The only valid excuse i say is that you've already booked your holiday adventures or cannot get work off, Fair enough. But seriously guys farked if i know what im doing in 6 months time! I'm sure i can be free! haha

I'd throw late NOV-early DEC in there also. High school and uni are done by then, weather is warm.

Remember;
Different states have different school holidays. It is more than a jaunty little drive if you are coming from Vic or SA. It is realisticly a two day trek. Also getting time off work during the school holidays can be difficult in some work places for those who do not have school aged kids.

Already Noted Cosmo, University's have identical holidays give or take a few days. How do i know? I make school calendars for a living haha
Easter Friday-Monday obviously is the same day. We wont be able to please everyone, so my suggestion is run the poll which ever dates get the most votes. We run it then. If we keep going back and forward we'll never leave the house! haha |

I'm free whenever. The people who want to come enough will do so. I personally will take a week before or after extra and explore the surroundings...

I think I'd do the same. Unless it was Easter weekend.
Has a location been decided on? I wouldn't mind trying the Myall/Bulahdelah or Bathurst regions? |
