marc, i think that that car is rediculous!
makes me feel a lot better about mine! i appreciate the kit would have taken a lot of money, but it looks sooooo crap. and it has a turbo badge, when its not even manual, and still n/a!! and dont get me started on the interior!

I was referring to the kit, not the interior, that mofo needs a slap in the head!

lol, yeah thats probably what NOT to do to a laser! lol
kit would have costed a fair bit though, as accolades arent cheap!! i dont mind the grille though on it... plus, what do people think of this chop i got done of my car? im thinking of following it through, changing front bumper, coilovers etc etc

Sorry had to repost one one of your unmodified pics to see the difference
Personally, fibreglass the lip to the bumper, and fill in the side recess' like what you have above

yeah i dont mind it the chopped way as it will allow the kit to match better and it allows me to go lower which will save the mags from looking small...

Personally I would only go as much as half an inch lower, cause then you run the risk of scraping etc.
HOK candy apple teal is an awesome colour!!!

take it from me, no matter how carefull you are, if you lower it, there will be that odd moment u lose concentration, it only takes a sec and bam your paint is fuked your fibreglass is fuked.. personally i would suggest to go only as low as legaly allowed, cus no matter how nice those rims looked tuckud up back there, it wouldnt look pretty scraped.
im lucky my car is white, you can only see the scrapes when its freshly washed.. |

Man, I reckon the only way to go that low and still be able to drive it would be airbag suspension, unless you plan on serious scrapage. Not a fan of the colour, I much prefer how it is now, or black would be my ultimate preference.

do you guys think i should do thiis? nearly everyone on another site is telling me not too.... they think its good enough, and a waste of time...
but i like the car, and wanna finish it off. i dont care about performance enough to warrant selling it. it easier for me to mod this into a show car than to sell it and buy something more "mainstream" and common...

I wouldnt call BJ/BJII mainstream i see hardly any done up.
4k and youd have yourself a fairly quick ride mate. I like how the kit on the chopped car looks, suits alot more. Looks 10x better chopped IMO. |

Yeah, it's great that you've got something different, it'd be awesome to see a laser at a car show for a change. Screw what those guys say, if you want to do it, and you've got the money and the time, go for it. You're the one who knows whether it'll make you happy in the long run. I love the kit in the chop btw, just not a fan of the colour.
As for performance, you can still always turbo the 1.6, which would mean decent power without a ridiculous increase in fuel consumption. I mean, it's not like you're building a track car, so a focus on power is pretty misguided when it's looks that floats your boat. |

you should really do something with the front bumper. having it smoothed like the chopped pic looks really clean and nice..atm the lip tooks too big for the car
