Yours is the BA Hatch, mine is the BA Hardtop.

hatch means that the rear window opens when you open the boot.
sedan or HT means that the rear window DOESNT open when you open the boot COUPE means (traditionally) that ther are 2 doors and the rear window doesnt open with the boot lid however lately that has been stretched by marketing and clever design as another (SAE) definition of coupe is governed by the space the car has in the pasanger compartmant |

Well, every panel except the doors is different, even though underneath they're pretty much the same.

hmmm tough call.. I love the BA hatch... but the BA Hardtop was my first car, and (despite being in utter c**p condition), was a good car... but then I also love the BJ2 SP20 (esp. in yellow or met. blue)... and the current model 3 is pretty sexy....

Strangely enough the BA doesn't age.
They could almost re-release it as a new car model and no one would notice. |

To be honest I think the BJ SP20 is growing on me.
But yeah, for now the BA Hardtop. I've always wondered what a BA hatch would look like with a hardtop front...but then standing next to both last Friday I realised quickly that it wouldn't be a feasible swap |

It's been done...or was it the other way around? There was one that turned up in NZ with the wrong front, and it was just an otherwise stock 1.8 too.
