the problem with changin the speedo bulbs is it dosent work as well.
I got the sp20 dials in changed the bulbs to blue leds and it went realy dull because what makes the factory dials red is the actuly dials. so all you are doing is sending blue light throught a red "face". if you changed the bulbs to white LED then it turns orange. hard to explain. |

You have to sand the back of the dials. Mine were green but as you stated it was because the back of the dials were green and after sanding them it came out a brilliant blue.

Just had a thought, why not paint the existing red bulbs in blue glass paint, then you'd get your purple

if you paint a standard globe blue the light goes white thats how phillips make blue vision and crystal vision globes.
brisbaneboy it make it bright orange u pull out the original globes and they will have orange condoms on the globes just take those of and ur all done. to get results with LEDs u need to sand back the colored film on the back of the spedo display and then remove the plastic barrier in front of the globes. if u take the globes out then look in the hole there will be a small plastic disk in front of the globe to stop the light shining directly at u through the spedo this forces the light to go around the disk which gives a more even spread of light arcross the whole dash. |
