Many of those people would have spouted the line 'You put that money in the bank then if something happens you'll be OK'. Well it was their decision and it's time to wake to the consequences.
Sorry, no sympathy.

I work for a plastics fabricator (Islex) doing Solidworks 3D modelling/CAD drawings. Our clients are mostly infrastructure based, and most of the big projects have been put on hold. We also get alot of work from mining companies, but the majority of that doesn't require my expertise anyways.

I wasn't happy with the job anyways, but it's not exactly an advantageous time to be looking for specialised work. I'll more than likely be selling the MX5 soon, perhaps swap the NB for an NA.

meh i agree with you there, my view on life is if something you need goes wrong, and you do not have immediate money to replace it, insure it

i believe 100% in what your saying cosmo...i know the rest of australia shouldnt be paying for their faults or beliefs for what ever reason they dont insure...the people behind the fires starting should pay it...

i believe the money given by the public has been done so voluntarily.

I suppose most of it will go towards the short term emergency support, housing and food etc provided by the Red Cross. The donations won't be necessarily be going into victim's pockets.

there not that hard to deal with...its just time consuming...if you have all the information at hand its a breeze normally... ive never had issues in the past...

all the people need is there name, address and who was the insurance through (thats for the people who lost everything in the fires)....

And im with you, need tyres for the CX7 Rims

Man, I wish I'd applied for youth-allowance before Feb 3rd, then I might be $950 richer.

I'd still prefer the tax cuts we used to get.

It might not be as obvious in your pocket as this scheme, but as least that would continue to pay us out in future years.
